Excitebots Trick Racing USA WII-ZRY

Scene group ZRY released a Wii version of pretty impressive game Excitebots: Trick Racing. This is one of the few racing titles for Wii and it provides heaps of fun and adrenaline. Developed by Monster Games and published by Nintendo, this is one of the titles I would really recommend if you own Nintendo Wii.

Excitebots: Trick Racing has elements that make it one of the more unique racing games on the market. It launches April 20 and lets everyone in the family use the Wii Wheel accessory in unique and changing environments, play fun minigames and perform crazy tricks in a game that builds on the Excitebike and Excite Truck franchises.

High-speed action. Robotic insect and animal racers. Wii Wheel controls. Bowling, poker, clowns – and sandwiches! Add them all together and you get the wild, nonstop fun of Excitebots: Trick Racing.

Features:

  • This game takes the big-air thrills and simple pick-up-and-play controls of Excite Truck™ and ramps up the fun with a constant barrage of funky challenges and mini-games performed at blinding speed. Players shoot goals, throw pies and even play poker in the middle of rowdy races around off-road tracks.
  • Having your vehicles drive, walk or fly around the track quickly is one thing, but it’s more important to go around in style. Players earn stars for huge jumps, cool tricks and daring feats at high speed.
  • Six players can race online via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection in both Excite Race and Poker Race modes. If friends can’t join online, players can exchange ghost data via WiiConnect24™ and challenge their friends to outdo their most daring tricks. (Note that broadband access is required for online play.)

    What is the difference with a scrubbed version? Seems to me that all the core elements would be missing and nothing would load properly.

    This is the answer. Apparently all we need to do is unRAR and it will be the full size ISO. Note that the scrubber is at version 1.0a as of me writing this.

    The newest version of WiiScrubber is version 1.40.

    WiiScrubber does a number of things but its main purpose is to replace the iso padding with "hollow" values. This means that the iso file size remains at 4+gbs when uncompressed but will compress down to a size closer to that of the actual game data. (just over 1gb in this case)

    Ripping generally involves removing useful files where as scrubbing involves altering useless padding. Big difference with the same result: better compression.

    I downloaded the scrubbed version (first time) and it works perfectly. Kids have been playing all day.

    I am using Softmii (a soft mod using homebrew channel & Twilight Princess hack).
