Everythings Cool 2007 DVDRip XviD-VoMiT
VoMiT just released this pretty good looking documentary about global warming. I love watching a good documentary and from the trailer this looks pretty interesting and got a decent score of 6.7/10 on IMDB, enjoy!
EVERYTHING’S COOL is a film about America finally “getting” global warming in the wake of the most dangerous chasm ever to emerge between scientific understanding and political action. While industry funded nay-sayers sing what just might be their swan song of pseudo- scientific deception, a group of global warming messengers are on a high stakes quest to find the iconic image, the magic language, the points of leverage that will finally create the political will to move the United States from its reliance on fossil fuels to the new clean energy economy – AND FAST.
We follow the country and our global warming messengers through an extraordinary three years of transformation, from 2003-to the eve of 2007:

global warming just means more summer!!
Most serious scientists agree that global warming is not man made, but an effect of higher solar activity. So this whole global warming scheme is a SCAM.
There are many documentaries on the subject on http://www.esoterictube.com/category/global-warming

this is stupid, America has been aware for a very long time of the damage its doing. But it had to be done, no country with such large populace is going to pay 2x to 3x more money for its its energy just to keep it clean. Look at China.

yes, plx other links :/
LMFAO. This is just propaganda. Just like SCAM said in 2nd post. It’s very sad that people realy believes things like global warming etc.

———–
What damage steve? We have planted more trees to replace the ones we harvest by a factor of 5 according to the US Forestry Service and the National Parks Service as well as even the UN Climate Control, who congrated us on doing this. Our enviromental rules require that we reseed and replace all ground so that it looks like we had never been there. We have the most environmental laws in the world according to the UN. Our smokestacks put out less then 1/10th of the lowest rating given any other country in the world according to the EPA and the UN. China is the worlds largest polluter with India coming a close second and Europe a distant third, and while we are in the top 10; we are nowhere close to these three.
So tell us Steve…exactly WHAT damage are we supposedly causing?
Oh and before I forget, isnt it just so very strange that the Director of the UN’s panel on climate change conceedes that nature has overwhelmed everything man can do, and that Global Warming has ceased (if it ever existed in the first place) and in fact the earth is actually cooling; not to mention that it could take another 10 years or more before man would (if he even could) start up this (Global warming BS) again? And this has the global warming nutcases in a tizzy as now nature magazine has shown where this is a lie, and the High Priest Commission of the religion of Global Warming has admitted that this is Nature doing it and not man…just like more rational heads have been trying to tell you since this began. Or that NOAA has shown the last 63 RECORD snowfalls has been in the last 10 years? Or the 115 LOWEST EVER temps for the month of November? Or that only 44 past Novembers have been colder then this one in the last 114 years? Or the polar ice is thicker then it has ever been? Even the London Daily Telegraph whacked Dr.James Hansen at NASA’s Goddard Institute for Space Studies when he claimed that this was the hottest November on Record, and then corrected himself and said it was not even clost to being the hottest. So where was the US press with this correction? Or how about Canadian Computer Analyst Steve McIntyre and American meteorologist Anthony Watts who found that the GB liars repeated the same settings from July and used them for Aug-October. Or that two years ago these same two people caused Dr.Hansen to withdraw his faked surface temps in the US findings that proved to him and GB nuts that this was the hottest decade of the 20th century was the 1990’s. It actually was the 1930’s when everyone had a Truck and Detroit made cars that people wanted. I predict in less then 10 years we are going to laugh at the stupidity of these GW nutcases and the only ones that will still believe in it are the ones in the white suites that tie in the back and have nightly medication.
I’m waiting for the documentary about why polar caps on Mars melting and how that’s America’s fault too.
@common sense:
Having the most laws is _not_ the same as having good or effective laws.
As for your smokestacks – big deal. Your country still produces as much CO2 as China does, at 1/4 the population.
As for whether global warming does or does not exist and whether it is or is not manmade – well, it all boild down to whom you believe, doesn’t it? I, for one, am more inclined to listen to the reports of the IPCC and their host of international scientific supporters than to the reports of a policy think tank with _clearly_ economic motivation, i.e. the Heartland Institute, who, by the way, happens to have Exxon executives on their board of directors …
theres lots of trolling on this thread!
hey Petrovich – Exxon is on the their board looking to make a profit off of your religion. You religious types are easy to control and eager to pay pittance for the sins of global warming..oops, I meant climate change.
I’m with you Petrovich. Might have something to do with not being American and actually being capable of weighing the available evidence impartially and coming up with a valid conclusion.
I’d like to point out to the many Europeans who frequent here that not all Americans are pathologically incapable of excepting responsibility; like the trolls here.
Hopefully we’ll learn and grow from this experience. Lies and nationalism poisoned, and nearly damned, us all. It is okay to love America and still admit her faults. We’ve just got to get past the mindset that we’re God’s chosen nation and leaders of the free world. Jesus has washed his hands of us, and we have slipped behind other nations in many categories. Now we must take responsibility and make this Nation great if that is what we want.
ProTip: Your Corporate Masters don’t care about America, they don’t have to when they’re Transnationals.
@ 17 lukaebae
NASA’s proposed program of terraforming Mars into a somewhat less inhospitable place includes releasing the water frozen in the polar ice caps in order to recreate rivers and seas.
So yes, it will be America’s fault.

@common sense:
Having the most laws is _not_ the same as having good or effective laws.
*WRONG. Our EPA is VERY strick and in fact is quite a bit more strict then the EU’s restrictions. Every car or truck or pollution producing device that comes from Europe MUST be refitted here to comply to OUR standards and thus makes the cost rise. Any of your businesses that ship over here willtell you that right to your face if you were ever brave enough to ask them*
As for your smokestacks – big deal. Your country still produces as much CO2 as China does, at 1/4 the population.
*EHHH, WRONG answer. The UN Climate Change Commission says that you have no bloody idea what the hell your talking about. Where do you think einstien, I got the figures from that place China #1-India #2 and Europe #3 as the worlds largest polluters? You cannot use the IPCC as a source and then claim it does not know what it is talking about because it does not fit your ideals.*
*Sigh, how typical; when an ideal is destropyed by fact, the person using the ideal goes on the defensive to defend it. Nature magazine has nothing to do with this “think tank” you are blasting, nor does the UN Commission on Climate Change, or did you intentionally ignore these two and their proof that GW is BS because they also dont fit into your view?*
Ignorance is bliss apparently
November 30th, 2008 | 15:39
I’m with you Petrovich. Might have something to do with not being American and actually being capable of weighing the available evidence impartially and coming up with a valid conclusion.
*You are right, your ignorance seemingly IS bliss to you as the same “experts” you blithly quote by route are now saying that they were wrong, and you obviously cannot deal with rejection or the destruction of your core beliefs. And isnt it amazing that the UN Climate Control Commission has the vast majority of it’s members (bout 90%) who are NOT American and they still say that you are wrong? So your poor attempt to insult Americans just blew right up in your freaking face! DEAL WITH IT.*
lol, if the overweighing amount of information proving that climate is changing because of us still doesn’t affect denials brains nothing will do. I mean the title and the art work of this documentary pretty much summarize their irrational behaviour.
ha ha..1974, Times Magazine said that we’re heading to Ice Age…global warming is such a nice scam…
I love that logic…in 1974 time magazine screw it (though scientist didn’t); ergo scientist must be wrong this time.
Why are the people touting man made global warming now calling it “climate change”? Could it be because “global warming” isn’t happening? This whole global warming scam was just a massive money grab from Al Gore on down. Governments see it as the goose that lays the golden eggs through more taxing authority. As someone mentioned earlier, why is Mars experiencing temperature changes right along with Earth? It sure isn’t CO2 emissions. It amazes me how easily some people can be lead around and made to believe any BS spouted by the likes of Al Gore who has ZERO authority on ANY scientific issues. He spews more BS than anyone I know. Gore is also a hypocrite of biblical proportions. His electric bill for just ONE HOUSE he owns of many is $20k USD PER MONTH!!! His carbon footprint is probably larger than 100 average people. Wake up you global warming lemmings and think for yourself for a change. Quit blindly following the people that are using you for monetary gain. These so called scientists want to keep the global warming scam alive so they can continue collecting grant money. As I said, global warming is nothing more than a HUGE money grab and us average people are the suckers that are paying for it.
The climate has been naturally warming and cooling on regular cycles for millions of years. Anyone ever hear of the Ice Age? Notice how it’s a lot warmer now? Is that due to cavemen driving SUVs? No. The planet does what it does and there’s NOTHING we’re dooing to cause it, and there’s NOHING we can do to stop it,.
Hey all you Americans out there didn`t you know that downloading warez and rips is like realy illegal in you country and like you could get seriously f*cked if MPAA gets your IP ?
And when the Global Warming reverses, they will again be talking about Global Ice Age AGAIN! And they will blame the US again for that. Class envy. Haters.
|[ The climate has been naturally warming and cooling on regular cycles for millions of years. Anyone ever hear of the Ice Age? Notice how it’s a lot warmer now? Is that due to cavemen driving SUVs? No. ]|
ah, lovely… fires have been naturally ocurring for millons of years. I guess then that there is no such a thing as a human made fire then
Global warming (as you see in paper/news) is a made up political sham.

common sense, you obviously didnt even understand what i was writing before writing your response you just wanted to spout out a bunch of facts. Im not arguing againt anything your saying only arguing against how some people characterize the US. Your response furthers that much better then my quick entry but i dont know why you phrase like it your arguing against me.
The people saying that most people in the US think theyre “gods” or have some god given right to pollute and that we dont objectively view the evidence is just beyond stupid. We are the ones putting out a lot of this evidence but the whole problem is the US is very big. Changing a countrys main power usage like France or even Germany isnt even 1/10 as hard as righting America’s vast energy usage.
The US has done remarkably well in most of what it has gotten involved in.
You can rail on the US all you want but if circumstances were different and the USSR was still together, prosperour and in control of its borders (and in control just outside of its borders) we would not even be having this conversation.
The problem with the Global warming research is that it is bias itself and i would say that the proponents of global warming are much less likely to listen to people and evidence that refutes global warming then people against the idea of global warming are to hear evidence for it. I hear the opposite said a lot but thats not true at all.
I am trying to gather as much info as i can and see what i think but all this major studies or documentaries on groups of studies all have their own bias and can really tailor the message how they like. I really want a completely neutral group to attack this and find out the facts and make their conclusions with absolutely no bias or hoped outcome.
mike, I agree that this documentaries shoulnd’t be used as source. If one really wants to be informed then the best you can do is to read what respectful institutions say (NASA, Universites, IPCC, National Academy of Science, etc.). There you will see that all of these institutions agree that climate is changing and is mostly because of us.

What is really funny is how science has been saying for years that when you look at the tree ring records of really old trees that the weather seems to go in cycles when it is really warm and when it is really cold, and that we are just going through those cycles and there isn’t anything that we could do on a large enough scale to change that.
Also the whole “wow look how many huricans we are having, must be global warming!” Is the exact same thing. Science has found proof of huricans coming in cycles of many, then cycles back to few, and that we are just headed in one of the cycles of many, and in a few years it will cycle back to few.
Of course it makes more money and shifts of political power to scream about what people are doing to screw things up rather than to look at the science and see that the earth has done this it’s entire life cycle. That the earth goes through cycles of lots of cold or heat, and lots of huricans or few. Like everything it goes through cycles. But that would make way to much sense and we can’t have that. How would people pull power and money away from others if we all made sense. We can’t have that! DOH!
Dear common sense,
where _do_ you get your data from, then?
UN Data (data.un.org) states 6,049,435 metric tons of co2 emissions for the United States vs. 5,010,170 metric tons for China. These dates _are_ from 2004, but those are the most recent figures available at the UN Statistics server.
Yes, I _have_ read news reports that China is supposed to have overtaken the US, but I haven’t seen any actual data on this. Mayhaps you care to share your sources?
Anyway, even _if_ China has overtaken the US in the last 4 years, China has a population of 1,330,044,544, while the US has 303,824,640 (data from CIA World Factbook). Care to enlighten me how my earlier statement was wrong, please ?
Oh, and not everyone who doesn’t share your opinion is some crazed zealot, you know, so I’d really appreciate it if you’d be kind enough not to treat me like one.
Cheers.ö
global warming? Still some people believe this global warming crap? It’s just Al Gore’s trick to get more money.
I think the main problem that people miss is the difference between the time it takes for a natural warming or cooling event to take place when compared with the rate at which this current warming event is happening. Those that quibble at the terminology of this (very large majority of climate-knowledgeable scientists agree) man-made event really do need to get to grips with the big picture. There will be warming in some areas and cooling in others but the overall trend for the planet is an increase in temperature.
It seems to me that invoking the precautionary principle would always be a sensible position to take in cases such as this.
the germans pollute the earth almost as much as we do!
and its a small insignificant country nobody cares about which amounts to nothing! the most evil humans were all born in germany have you all forgotten ? europe is evil! america is blessed by god!
why all the america hating ?

THE ANSWER:
Debate all you want. Scientists to the left say no, to the right say yes etc. etc.
Look at it this way. If we “guess” wrong, and say we are not causing the global warming, or it costs to much to stop it, and we do nothing, we cannot go back. We cannot say “oops, we were wrong, hit the reset button on the XBox.” It doesn’t work that way folks.
We should assume that yes WE ARE causing it, even without proof, and act accordingly. How does more efficient less toxic fuels hurt the world? It doesn’t. Maybe it hurts or helps the economy, who cares, do it.
We have ONE shot at this people. Are you willing to sacrifice your lives because a few scientists think that this is normal? They have been wrong in the past correct?
Act as if you do cause the problem, now!
venomhead said: “We should assume that yes WE ARE causing it, even without proof”
This kind of thinking gets people killed. Goggle “ddt africa environmental movement” to learn what happens when ignorant do good intention cause unintended consequences.
What we do know is tat anthropogenic global warming hysteria and resulting public policies will make people poorer, will stifle innovation and will indirectly kill and impoverish untold millions.
venomhead, while it FEELS GOOD to think you are doing something to save the world, you need to eject emotion and focus on empiricism to get to the truth. Climate change happens but THERE IS NO PROOF that mankind causes it and to what degree. Acting on a hysteria not based on empirical evidence will lead to nasty unintended consequences…
I don’t know why Americans don’t just say” Okay, we are the biggest cause of global warming but we just don’t give a damn”. All this denial is just stupid. Every fool knows that the scientists who say global warming isn’t happening are paid to say so by the oil rich Bush administration. Continue polluting if ye want but at least be honest with yourselves about it.

It is as stupid as concluding this change is natural just because past changes has been.
Americans;
Go buy christmas crap you don’t need, consume, polute, consume, polute, practice UNLIMITED economic growth ON LIMITED resources if you want, idolise objects, worship your tv icons, become the brainwashed 1984 sheep, support corporations who don’t give a damn about you and exploit, all the things you love, just go do it on some other planet where you won’t hurt the rest of the world.
With less than five percent of the world’s population, America consumes about one fourth of the world’s energy resources.
Santa says:
With less than five percent of the world’s population, America consumes about one fourth of the world’s energy resources.
Yeah, because the US produces more than any other on Earth. It is why we have the world’s highest GDP. In order to make stuff for the world, a corresponding energy usage is required. Countries that don’t use as much energy also have a smaller GDP and standard of living. I would rather live in the wealthiest country in the world than any place else.
Of course. Because you are selfish and don’t care about the rest of the world. You don’t produce anything for them. Most of the stuff Americans consume comes from the third world, from your Nike clothes to the stuff you eat for lunch.
While you eat unhealthy and more than you need, even dieing of being overweight, people around the world starve, and make you products you consume.
For purely selfish reasons, yeah its good to be the in the developed world.
Speaking about morality, I’d have second thoughts. Sadly, morality doesn’t have a place in this materialistic and capital driven world. So we are all screwed, more or less.
dan greene:
Yes, the US does have the highest GDP of any one _country_ in the world. That doesn’t mean that its energy consumption vs. GDP ratio is all that great.
Take the EU for example:
The EU has a higher GDP/PPP than the US ($14.43 trillion vs. $13.78 trillion, source:CIA World factbook), but uses less energy (86,294 quadrillion Btu vs. 100,691 quadrillion Btu, source:EIA), and also happens to have a bigger population.
As for living standards or living in the wealthiest country in the world, it all boils down on how you define ‘wealthy’.
If you go only by GDP, then granted, you’re best off in the US. Take a look of the GDP per capita, which would make a lot more sense to me personally, and the US takes the 10th place. And if you want to take standard of living into account, you might be better off taking a look at the UN’s Human Developement Index, where the US scores 12th place.
Oh, and keep in mind that the US also is the country with the highest external debt (cf CIA World factbook).
Don’t get me wrong, I think it’s great that you love your country and love living in it, and I’m sure the US is a great country to live in living standards-wise – but the US just isn’t always the best at everything…

I’ve seen the Danish documentary “Mystery of the Clouds” some time ago. That was enlightning. It states that the earth’s clouds
and thus the climate responds to solar and galactic winds, e.g. the stream of particles flying through space, emitted by stars
or just being there in the form of galactic nebulae. Those particles form aerosols in the atmosphere needed for water to
condense on and form clouds. They looked at the data of the Solar activity and could find a remarkable significant correlation
between that and the temperature (if I’m not mistaken).
Also another scientist who was aware of this finding looked at it from a grander scale and saw that the earth has a climate
cycle of 150 million years, the same cycle that the earth and our whole solarsystem undergoes while we travel inside our galaxy
(the Milkyway) and through the spiral arms which contain more dust and bright stars which emit more solar winds. Inside the
spiral arms the earth got colder because of the abundance of dust and particles hitting the earths atmosphere and creating more
clouds, while it was warmer when the earth should have been outside those spiral arms.
What’s also remarkable that we are now in a minor spiral arm, with more galactic winds than is usual outside a spiral arm. This
is why it is somewhat colder than other times the earth have been in. This can be proven by the fact we have large shunks of
surface ice. This is an ice age. Just not as pronounced as when the ice would reach lattitudes of 50° with layers of a km thick.
Another thing that is both remarkable as terrifying is that the correlation between earth’s surface temperature and the amount
of carbon dioxide goes both ways, not just one way. So CO2 heats the earth, but more heats also releases more CO2 in the
atmosphere, not the mention the amounts of CH3 trapped in the frozen tundra. Anyway, this is extra bad news for us if the theory
that we can alter the climate with our CO2 emission is true. If we alter it, the climate will alter the amount of CO2 further
and further. A runaway train scenario.
A final thing: it was odd to see that the claims of the Danish scientist were dismissed as untrue because of the big “we need to
bring down CO2 no matter what!” lobby. It looks like even those guys have a powerful lobby now.
I am not dismissing any theory because I stated a different view on the subject. I believe both ways are correct – that both we as the sun influence the climate – but we do not really know which one does the most or whatever the correlation may be between those two mechanisms.
The sooner this species dies out, the sooner it can stop embarrassing itself.
Of course. Because you are selfish and don’t care about the rest of the world. You don’t produce anything for them.’

‘Most of the stuff Americans consume comes from the third world, from your Nike clothes to the stuff you eat for lunch.’
Yep, I eat used ‘third world’ Nikes for lunch (when I can afford them). I believe that they sell well worldwide, not just in the U.S. (where the company is based). Technically, the U.S. ‘produces’ them as well. The people that I know eat things like homemade sandwiches for lunch. FYI, they’re made from domestic beef, chicken and ham, with domestic cheeses, domesticly grown produce, and domestically produced and packaged condiments on domestically baked bread. What do you eat that’s foreign, and how does it get to you?
‘While you eat unhealthy and more than you need, even dieing of being overweight, people around the world starve, and make you products you consume.’
Might be that we’re so busy trying to keep up with worldwide inflation caused by countries like China producing toxic replacements to our goods that we don’t have time to sit around complaining like you. We may eat a lot of fast food, but we’re not as fat (per capita) as some ‘non fast food nations’. Look it up. There are more people involved in health regimens in the U.S. than anywhere else on the planet. Whom is the U.S. starving with their constant flow of humanitarian aid? Do these countries you worry about happen to suffer from self-induced tragedy, by chance?
‘For purely selfish reasons, yeah its good to be the in the developed world.’
‘Purely selfish reasons’? Really? Are you that bitter that you would believe this garbage? You obviously have no idea what the people of the U.S. are made of. There’s a lot of heart and soul here. A lot of selfless actions occur constantly that aren’t reported by the nasty, negative media that you obviously surrender to. Pretty sad, I say.
‘Speaking about morality, I’d have second thoughts. Sadly, morality doesn’t have a place in this materialistic and capital driven world. So we are all screwed, more or less.’
Great outlook. I suppose we should all just give up and become more like you. Hatred, after all, is a disease. But it is curable. Suicide is only one option, but by reading your input it’s likely second on your list, right after homicide.

BTW, while you’re on your computer, don’t be a hypocrite and use Google, YouTube, Myspace, Facebook or any other U.S. based websites to entertain and/or inform yourself. Wouldn’t want you sharing in our sad, non-productive ways while you wallow in your self-pity.
Why don’t you all stop acting like housewives blabbering over which of you can make the best pie? In a metaphorical sense of speaking. Ffs, this is about the future of the earth (and the lobbies in the USA denying that), not about which nation is to blame. Throwing mud isn’t going to help us get out of this tight situation.
Also, ryai, stop trying to convince others (and most likely yourself) that the USA is all that good. Oh, and what petrovich said.
Nations are just another way of dividing people. Its “us vs them” logic. We are all on the same planet, we are all the same species.
Nationalism and patriotism is idiocy. We learned enough through history to leave that behind.

The weather is increasingly worst. Just look at all the fires in California, the amount of Hurricanes, and how strong they are now. The amount of Tornadoes, have gone way up. There has always been weather catastrophes, but is getting more extreme. I think the reason people misconstrue it, because the weather is just more extreme. Was watching a guy explain, Global Warming is not a good word to explain what is happening, is more like Global Weirding, weather is just going to get weird. Humans have destroyed a ton of species on Earth, why is it so hard to believe, that we are destroying the Earth. Am not even environmentalist, but is obvious. Not all the amount of misinformation by Exxon executives, is going to make me feel different.
#24 / common sense
“Our EPA is VERY strick and in fact is quite a bit more strict then the EU’s restrictions.”
Your EPA is the best that money can buy.
If you don’t think Global warming is occurring, or that it’s not man made, or that the planet is really cooling, then you’re a fcking moron mate. Wake up to yourself, and stop stuffing up my planet.
Congrats people, Common Sense ripped you apart and destroyed your whole arguments with facts and names and links and the best that you can do in reply is name call? I bet your parents are very proud of how you were raised.
Humans have a major impact on earth no doubts about that, but ‘Global Warming’ is mostly a myth.
Ignorance is bliss apparently.

It really isn’t hard to find out what respected institutions’ conclusions on this matter is. I’ll go with their conclusions rather than what I read in blogz, lefty/righty sites or even these “documentaries”.
You know there was an Ice age a long time ago….seems to me that the earth’s been warming ever since
common sense – maybe you should should change it to common non-sense?
bush has from the start installed people into the regulatory offices and across the board those who were once being regulated by them or lobbyists for them or think tank strategists paid by them or lawyers for them.
across the board!

Consumers Left in the Cold
Published: September 6, 2007
By now it should come as no surprise that the Bush administration dislikes regulation. It has appointed industry-friendly officials to lead agencies that enforce everything from consumer safety to workplace regulations. It has watered down standards and deprived regulatory agencies of the resources they need to do their jobs.
Yet some companies seem to believe that the nation’s threadbare consumer protections are still too stringent and should best be ignored. The Wall Street Journal reported this week that Mattel, the world’s largest toy maker — which this summer alone recalled more than 20 million Chinese-made toys worldwide — has delayed reporting defects to the government because it thinks the reporting rules are unreasonable.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission, which requires companies to report potential hazards within 24 hours of their discovery, has fined Mattel twice for such delays since 2001: once because it waited about two years before reporting a fire hazard in its Power Wheels motorized minicars and on another occasion because it took months to report loose screws on its Little People Animal Sounds Farm.
The commission is now investigating Mattel’s recent handling of toys containing tiny magnets that, if swallowed, could puncture a toddler’s stomach lining. Though the company recalled 2 million Polly Pocket figurines with these magnets last November, it wasn’t until August that it recalled another 18 million toys that were also studded with the magnets.
Mattel’s excuse — that it needs time to analyze reports of possible hazards before telling the authorities — is arrogant and dangerous. And Mattel’s unapologetic willingness to defy the regulators leaves no doubt that the nation’s battered regulatory apparatus is not up to the task of protecting American consumers.
The commission’s puny fines, capped at less than $2 million, are clearly no deterrent against flouting its rules and should be raised. But rather than tightening consumer protections, the Bush administration seems happy to let the agency decline. Under this White House’s tutelage, the Consumer Product Safety Commission has promoted voluntary compliance over safety mandates. Bush appointees have also coddled manufacturers in other ways — for instance, by allowing companies not to report hazards involving their products if the risk of injury is considered to be obvious or predictable, or if misuse played a role.
Meanwhile, budget and staff cuts are weakening the agency’s ability to detect wrongdoing, even as the nation is hit by wave after wave of recalls of Chinese imports. In the last two years, the commission’s budget has been cut by 10 percent. Its staff, which reached nearly 1,000 people in the ’70s, is now down to 420 workers, 12.5 percent fewer than in 2002. Eric Lipton of The Times reported that there is only one employee to test suspected defective toys from across the nation.
The Bush administration apparently considers regulatory weakness a virtue. But in this summer of recalls, Mattel’s cavalier approach is a chilling reminder of the dangers of coddling industry and starving regulators.

anybody with half a brain can figure out what bush is about.
do a simple google search and see what you find.
and to be fair avoid those that appear to be slanted views from the enviromentalists and extremists liberals.
you’ll still find planty of plain facts that show what bush’s attitude is towards the envirnment and public safety.
if you don’t you don’t want to. simple as that!
nice links #74 m34
but you really shouldn’t do that. they don’t have the capability to comprehend what’s being said in them and still retain their views.
