All copies of nod32 I come across tend to end up not working sooner or later.. How is this one any different?

  4. Warel
    October 21st, 2007 | 02:29

I´m using NOD32 2.7 for a long time, and it´s with no doubt the best anti-virus solution I found so far.
    Downloading version 3 right now.

  5. NuZZ
    October 21st, 2007 | 02:32

Im also running 2.7, and for awhile (4 month?)

I don’t really wanna bother downloading the new one and unistalling old and reinstalling and cracking and updating :p.

    BUT IT WILL!

these release candidates and betas tend to expire, it’s usually better to wait for a final version. either way nod32 is definitely one of if not the best antivirus around with kaspersky a close second

I wish there was a way to automatically ban anyone who says “FIRST”

  9. Emm
    October 21st, 2007 | 02:52

So they couldn’t wait till Final got out…
Seriously ppl… this is still in testing stage, so keep the good ol’ 2.7 installed!

@Scott… it’s pretty sim ple to do in php:
if 1st post contains the word “FIRST” => BAN THE F**KIN’ R3TARD THAT TRIED!

Apparently one of the best AV’s out there, personally i use symantec corporate edition and it works like a charm.

  12. GaMeR
    October 21st, 2007 | 03:05

I use the 2.7 version with the lifetime trial registry fix. Why would this one be better? The lifetime trial works just as great as the real deal.

    October 21st, 2007 | 03:15

if the antivirus didnt work how would you know?

you can’t say that some work like a charm with any positivity

    October 21st, 2007 | 03:19

It’s best antivirus but you cann’t update virus defination
offline. There is no link to download virus defination on its official site. So you must have internet to update virus defination. For offline computers kaspersky is best.

I’m very excited about this. I love this program. I’ve been waiting for v3. Too bad this is RC1. Hopefully they crack the final version when that gets released.

  20. October 21st, 2007 | 04:01

    Yes
This is the best antivirus there is.

    Always use NOD32

    NOD32 all the way.
    Getting this now

hope my cracked usernames and passwords also work with this version :)

  21. Zc
    October 21st, 2007 | 04:29

Theres a way to update it automatically from a update mirror.

  22. someguy
    October 21st, 2007 | 04:38

Why does this need to be cracked? RC1 works without a crack. I’ve been using RC1 for almost a month and it updates and everything.

Interesting thing; this was developed in New Zealand. No.8 wire, and now one of the best anti-virus programs out at the moment. Heh.

One great thing about NOD32, it doesn’t chew up your system resources unlike Nortons.

eh until avast doesnt work for me ill stick to avast

  30. strider84
    October 21st, 2007 | 06:35

I was using cracked version of Avast 4.7 which was working perfectly.I had kept updates on,which was fine for a while but now Avast seems to have improved their securty and I get that invalid key message.
What I want to know is can I still keep Avast or should I d/l a new one?It says my subscription ends in 1888 days, even though I can’t update and get that illegeal key error.
    Is NOD32 better than Avast?

  31. October 21st, 2007 | 06:45

To me avast and nod32 are around the same standard.

You will get many opinions on the best anti virus. No different than any other kind of app. But most people will agree that NOD32 is a great anti-virus, even if it’s not their personal favorite.

I personally think NOD32 is the best because it has very high detection rates ( Top 3 at most sites, and I’ve never had anything slip by it to date), but even more importantly…because it does such a great job with low resource usage.

I like being able to do other things while DL’ing.

I got the program and everything running fine and everything, but on main page of the program it says that the license for the program is only valid until 11/1/07, why is that?

@35 no, i ran it after i installed it, should i uninstall and than restart, than run patch, than install?

  39. soil
    October 21st, 2007 | 09:14

I’ve been using NOD32 for the past 2 years and it has worked like a charm (in combination with Agnitum Outpost Firewall). Last week i decided to format my PC, fresh installation of XP, bla, bla… so I thought i’d update NOD32 (was using the 2.7 version). I found the 3.0 RC1 version highly intrusive, filtering net traffic before it reaches the firewall, resulting in conflicts and ultimately blocked traffic. If you already have 2.7 installed, pass on the 3.0 release, or at least wait for the full thing to come out.

  40. October 21st, 2007 | 09:35

u should install then DO NOT restart, apply ur patch then restart ur comp.

  41. Leechy-kun
    October 21st, 2007 | 09:40

Used NOD32 2.79 for awhile good app. Tried version 3 but gave bsod or was just buggy. Could be different now. But I’ve already switched to Kaspercrap and haven’t looked back since.

  42. thug_angel
    October 21st, 2007 | 09:48

I just upgraded my nod from 2.7 to 3 few days back and I have to say its improve on almost all aspects compared to its previous version I used the serial keys and they work just fine and gets upgrades too so if it tends to get lost I’ll use this crack instead…

  46. kebrus
    October 21st, 2007 | 10:57

i don’t get it how can someone prefer another AV over nod32, one of the best in term of virus detection (if not the best) while using little resources to do it, probably the only thing bad about nod32 is the GUI which isn’t very intuitive and it looks like windows 95… i recently found that most of the people in my university (at least in my course) uses nod32 and since it’s a engineering course i think that tells something…

  47. blunden
    October 21st, 2007 | 11:18

@44: Nod32 is probaly the AV app with the longest support for vista. They don’t use kernel patching like many other AV apps did, so they never ran into these problems. That’s why even older versions from around the time vista beta 1 and earlier works ok. The latest versions all have official support for it though. :D

@46… Tells us they don’t know jack about AV software.

Have a read for yourself, from PC PRO, the UK’s most respected professional computing journal.

  54. costa200
    October 21st, 2007 | 12:35

    @46

The review page doesn’t open so we are stuck with a numeric grading without explanation on what exactly motivated such a poor result.

And i wouldn’t trust something out of a “journal” under the wing of media tycoons. I usually get my results from here:

    http://www.av-comparatives.org/index.html?http://www.av-comparatives.org/seiten/comparatives.html

As you may check for yourself, NOD32 have a very good performance as do some other AV software. And in this site you have it all layed out for you to analyze. I would like to have the informations you wanted to share with us. Can you make your link work?

  55. Q
    October 21st, 2007 | 12:35

those pc pro guys know jack sh!t they get payed by norton for ad space

  56. costa200
    October 21st, 2007 | 12:58

UK’s journal results were from 126 executable files… When we test thousands NOD32 does well, so i would say the results were in to fit someone’s wishes…

I’ve used the older NOD32 for ages and is a great programme. The username and pass that is with this no longer works for update but the 3rd one that no 31 posted worked for me and updated OK,(thanks for that).
Used to swear by Norton until I woke up to the amount of resources it uses, never touched it since (for about 4 years) as it takes over your PC resources!

  68. hotdiggitydam
    October 21st, 2007 | 23:24

installs okay but doesn’t prompt for restart. just launches. so can’t run patch first then reboot. says invalid user/pass, blah blah blah. used other user/pass listed above and worked. for now. lol.

U need to use the latest version! Always!
Right now 3.0.560.0 is the latest one!

Either download the trial version, but since there is no ready FiX to it I don’t know for how long it can be kept until it expires and if it really works as expected. I tested only the commercial version.

Or use a commercial version from the Registered downloads page from eset dot com. When it asks for a user and a password, simply do a Google before that on these keywords:

    NOD32 EAV

Check in the previews of the search results for username: EAV-a_long_number and password: ne32wsfdsk, or something similar to this. There are also keys that start with AV-, they are also good… if they still work!

Most of the keys won’t work cause they got blacklisted by Eset so you need to keep looking. Also check the dates of the posts or articles, as most sites that show these keys are blogs or forums… so the newer the article the most chances it has to contain valid keys.

Once you got such a commercial version, you need to display the upper toolbar, which is hidden by default, in order to access advanced options. Search in the interface, it’s not hard to find. Once in the advanced options windows, it will be a regular windows without the fancy graphics, go to the Update or Updates section and add a new server from the list:
    http://u20.eset.com/eset_eval/
    http://u21.eset.com/eset_eval/
    http://u30.eset.com/eset_eval/
    http://u32.eset.com/eset_eval/

If you know these from the older version 2 of NOD32, there are more, you just need to change the /nod_eval/ to /eset_eval/ termination of the address to make them valid for v3.

Now from the drop down list select one of the new servers and update.

Also nsaneproductions dot com are making the FiX for v3, just check their page and see when it’s done… then use it.

I would help you more with detailed steps more but I tested v3 in a virtualized Windows, in VMWare, and I don’t want to start it again… :P … but the overall settings are easy to do.

  80. Emm
    November 7th, 2007 | 21:26

Also pls don’t click on the links with u30 ans so… cause it might attract Eset’s attention. The browser also sends the page from where these links were posted… that’s this site!
