YAY, here is another game that i have been waiting for and im sure many of you have aswell, Empire Total War thanks to Razor1911. The game focuses on the era period between the 1700s and 1800s. The game follows a similar style of play as earlier Total War titles: players choose a contemporary faction and set out to ensure their faction’s domination over the known world.

Empire: Total War maintains the series’ genre-leading 3D battles, grand turn-based campaign map and rich historical flavor while for the first time introducing 3D naval combat into the series. The game is set in the 18th century, a turbulent era alive with global conflict, revolutionary fervour and technological advances. Empire: Total War sees the debut of 3D naval combat — gamers will be able to intuitively command vast fleets or single ships upon seascapes rich with extraordinary water and weather effects that play a huge role in your eventual glorious success or ignominious defeat.     Tim, go into the DirectX folder and do the install. You need to update your DirectX..once that's done, you will have no problems running the game.

    I orignally had the DirectX error and have sense updated that and my graphics driver (for an ATI HD 3850), as well as disabled my firewall and installed steam. I still have the same problem of the game crashing at the copyright screen before the intro movies to the game or anything else plays. CPU usage goes straight up and I get an hour glass and end up having to kill empire.exe via Task Manager. Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix that? I did not use the game redistribtal to update directx but rather the web installer directly from Microsoft's Website as the directx installer did not complete the startup and ended up closing without appearing to do anything.

    I played the game for a total of ~25 hours now. No missing sounds anywhere or no CTDs anywhere. The only errors I encountered were once the textures became pink and green in battle map after playing for 13 hours straight( I think this is because of a memory leak since I found a newly created crash_memory_dump.pack file in the game directory after this) and the occasional advisor sound loop, which are retail issues I guess.

    So, I read pages 2-6 of this and I have the same problem as 145. Did everything recommended, then tried the sketchy recommendations, and still nothing – when I run Empire.exe, a process appears in task manager for about 1s, then vanishes without even giving an error or anything. Doesn't even get to the splash screen either.

    Finished a grand campaign and came back to read the comments. LOL as 532 and a few others pointed out, just not copying the episodic 1 from the razor crack works like a charm (well the grand campaign stuff I had is from the razor crack anyhow heh) and I got past the point where Ben had mentioned getting stuck after montreal/quebec.

    Pah, what a waste of time. Poison please update your help stuff so more people don't get confused.

    can you explain a little bit more? for what chapter is this? for the usa chapter? but what does it fix?

    i dont have any problems with the sound.. what i know of.. only sometimes ctd when i play as usa in rti 4 or 5 chapter i think.. there you have to take over 15 regions.. it happends when i click and try to take over some region. when i take auto resolve battle. the way i solve it was to eather to ignore to attack it or just start all over and se if it works and this time it did. so we will see how far i can get.

    I have the same problem, tried the razor crack, tried various episodic_1 files tried with or without the sound fix, couldnt get anything to work. Would be great if anyone knew how to fix it.

    I have yet to reach the "end point" of the game myself, but I've heard from others that you will get a "Do you wish to continue playing" option, despite the results.

    Hey Fred, yeah I just finished Bunker Hill earlier today and got past it. Saved and went back to the grand campaign, heh. As I mentioned before I installed using a changed setup.dat (I posted it somewhere awhile ago) and then copied over all the razor files minus the episodic_1 folder. Tried beating it again though? The game sometimes crashes just because.

    Me again guys … Just to inform you that I failed to copy the files to HD (gives me the message Invalid perimeter or something ?!?)but it didnt give me any error messages during the installation ???

    I dont think you need STEAM …

    btw. After I reinstalled it, I cant enter the game anymore, it just pops out that annoying Send/Dont send error report.

    First time I installed it I could enter the game, I saw the first screen saying Empire Total war, date of production etc. and after that i would get send/dont send error report message … Now I cant get even that …

    btw. I reinstalled it yet again and got that "First Screen" back, but still cant get to the main menu, the game keeps ctd (crash to desktop)…

    A valid serial is needed to update via steam. Unless they also make a stand alone patch, we need to wait for a torrent.

    if we could know exactly what files are updated in the update then i think we could package these and just copy paste in the install folder..but then again…

    One more reason why i will fork out the money for this a little later…plus i am 100% sure that they will have an expansion pack as it seems to prove it on their website.

    Hey guys I read in torrent comments that Steam has some way to know that you're using the cracked version of ETW and will ban your legit steam account if you have one on your computer… Anyone has info about this? How could we avoid it?

    That is likely how updates will be distributed. DoW II was done in the same fashion and someone uploaded the changed files. Not quite sure how all changes are tracked though.

    All long as you aren't logged in your steam account while playing, they shouldn't be able to do anything. Or, you could just make a second steam account.

    Hey everbody, again:(… i need some help when i try and install the game with is mounted with daemon tools. i click on setup.exe and it starts installing so im thought it was ok and then it randomly freezes on a file witch was takecover lua file or somthing and yeah its done it about 6 times getting pretty frustrating thanks everyone for your help

    Well, one solution would be to dl one of the repacks since those just use a normal unrar and not a setup of any sort. No idea why this would happen, though.

    Original STEAM patch inclueded new Empire.exe (need new crack to start) and patch.pack file. You can copy patch.pack file to DATA directory and play thith old cracked exe file from RAzor, but i dont know abount a changes if you made like this :) I made normal update after new craced exe is comming out.

    DL only patch.pack here. Test and comment please :)

    As with all the Total War series make SURE you have done the following:

    1. Gotten salvation from a young priest, and an old priest.
    2. Borrowed something blue
    3. Caught a lebricon
    4. Slaughtered 10 unicorns.
    5. Updated all possible drivers
    6. Tuned in your sun-dial 30 degrees north/northeast
    7. Not cursed the last 10 weeks.

    Do this, and the game might let you try the menu.

    But there's still a bit of sound problem, but it's not much of a problem really.

    The game demands such a huge machine to run properly. I'm running on high settings, with a huge f'ing rig, and i still get lag. It demands about 100 times more than the earlier Total war series.

    After applying patch.pack from the steam update. My game will just CTD at the startup. Seems to me a corrisponding empire.exe is required altho 1 of my friends have got it to work with old empire.exe

    Hey everybody i got the game working and i think ive got 1 LAST problem whenever i start up the game the PF usage goes to 1.23G when its normally at around 380MB (when the games not started) and the cpu usage goes to 90%. is this normal or does it use almost a gigabyte of PF Usage for everyone?
    Need HELP!! thanks

    Btw its super laggy when that happens too.

    Well the patch caused problems with other language versions. Only english one was working. SEGA was about to release a hotfix by now.
    Regarding the problems, I had none. I installed Razor version and put in all the files from Razor folder (I am not interested in RtI but in GC). So far the game has crashed only once during AI turn. Gamestopping bug reported by many people with the original version. Was supposed to be fixed in this latest patch. That is why I am so eager to get it. I am not sure if the old cracked exe will work though.

    @people having steam_api.dll missing problem;
    guys i was having that problem so i downloaded the 7gb version and when the setup finished steam_api.dll and all the other stuff was there.So if u are having the same problem dont bother to solve it cuz u cant just download the 7gb one..

    When I am installing the game, it sits there at 948 files, and the file name it is on and always stops on is

    An update from 525:
    Got the game running, apparently I wasn't waiting long enough. Startup takes about 1 minute before the game intros play. CPU usage is still at 100% on one processor, but the game does run and work from. I did move the game from a NTFS compressed partition to an uncompressed, though I don't think that had anything to do with it starting.

    What to do?

    By the way what does the "Empire_Total_War_Update_2-RazorDOX" fix? ive installed it but still no gunfire or cannon sound.

    did you get any error when install the Empire_Total_War_Update_2-RazorDOX

    don't forget the clean install with original crack

    then copy update.exe to your etw dir and paste etw.exe from Empire_Total_War_Update_2-RazorDOX too?

    that is all i know.

    c’man mates I’v downloaded from sms4file.com and got 2 files of 7 and 4gigz and in .htm extension I renamed it from .htm to .rar and tried to extract to location but it shows me error and that i have to find some .r00 file
    HELP PLZ TNX

    Here mate.
    For the First disk, change the first htm to .rar and extract. When it asks for some the .r00 file, click the next file, which is the .002 file.

    tnx mate, i have extracted those files but now i have different problem, i copy all of the files from 2 dvd-s in one folder on my hard drive and when i click on setup.exe i have razor installer and when i try to install it finishes like in a second and only thing i am seeing is some start menu shortcut :( but the game does not install :( some ideas??? :(
