Elvis Costello and the Impostors - Momofuku (2008)

This is a guest post by Chinballs

How did this slip through the cracks? I mean, I didn’t even know about it until I just came across it, even though it was pre’d a few days ago. Costello is no less than a rock genius, and even though, to some, his later stuff has been hit or miss, I’ve usually been able to find a lot of enjoyment in it. This hit store shelves this last week, so it is definitely a brand new release and one worth checking out. The label that released this, Lost Highway, might be my favorite record label going right now, with the recent Willie Nelson, Ryan Adams, and Elvis Costello stuff.

The new album from Elvis Costello And The Imposters featuring their friends Jenny Lewis, Johnathan Rice, Tennessee Thomas, “Farmer” Dave Scher, David Hildalgo and Jonathan Wilson.

why do you idiots need everything posting for you?

You know what day it is released on, so go and download it. it doesn’t need to be reported on here for you to go and grab it.

    “he is good but…”

This is meant as a joke, correct? Elvis is not even in the realm of “good”. He is a master and someone who likely inspires a majority of music that DCFC and similar bands produce. I find it insulting, on a personal level, that you even mention him in the same sentence as DCFC and/or Jason Mraz. But you know what they say about taste…

Go see this guy live. He will give you a value far greater than any monetary figure you could ever lay down. Living Legend.
