Elizabeth The Golden Age 2007 1080p HDDVD x264-HD1080

Fishy group HD1080 came up with the 1080p version of this historical biography of Queen Elizabeth I. This is just the best quality you will find, and will look amazing on a Full HD screen. The movie itself has gotten average reviews, but has been nominated for 2 oscars (Best Actress, Best Costume Design), of which it won the Best Costume Design award.

Synopsis: Reprising the roles they originated in seven-time Academy Award®-nominated Elizabeth, Cate Blanchett and Geoffrey Rush return for a gripping historical thriller laced with treachery and romance–The Golden Age. Joining them in the epic is Clive Owen as Sir Walter Raleigh, a dashing seafarer and newfound temptation for Elizabeth. Elizabeth: The Golden Age finds Queen Elizabeth I (Oscar®-winner Cate Blanchett) facing bloodlust for her throne and familial betrayal. Growing keenly aware of the changing religious and political tides of late 16th century Europe, Elizabeth finds her rule openly challenged by the Spanish King Philip II (Jordi Molla)–with his powerful army and sea-dominating armada–determined to restore England to Catholicism.

    Res: 1920×1040 ?

    Kind of odd to crop off 40 pixels, isn’t it? Looks like a reason for a nuke, but I’m not sure…

    The movie is shot at 1.85:1 AR, so I guess that’s pretty close.

    what a bias movie this turned out to be,nothing about the persecution of thousands of catholics in England and Ireland, nothing about the plantations she set up in Ireland to steal land from the natives and distribute it amongst greedy English landlords. Typical hollywood non-sense.

    What has Martin been smoking? The movie was utter crap, I could maybe understand downloading the high-res version if you really liked costumes, but otherwise no.

    @12 I haven’t watched this film. But it doesn’t surprise me that Hollywood would bias the actual events. Hollywood is very much to the left.

    Great post, but ffs, why not resize the screenshot?
    It looks crap when scaled by the browser and it wastes bandwidth, in this case not from your site though.

    @JonnyBoy

    I got the 10GB HV release of this film with DTS and the res is the same odd 1920×1040. I don’t know if HD1080 did a recode or if the source is that odd resolution, but either way it looks fantastic. If you don’t care about the DTS soundtrack then I’d say go with this one and save yourself from downloading the extra 2GB.
