El Cantante WORKPRINT XviD-CAMERA
You don’t get the chance to download WORKPRiNTS everyday. The last one available was for the film ‘Hostel: Part II‘ about 2 months ago and to be getting another now is actually quite quick. We here at rlslog don’t even have a category for WORKPRiNTS that’s how rare they are. CAMERA is the group that gives us this latest WORKPRiNT and is of the movie EL Cantante. Starring Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez the plot tells the life story of Hector Lavoe who started the salsa movement in 1975 and brought it to the United States. The quality of this WORKPRiNT is pretty good but as is the norm with this type of release there is a pretty large copyright notice at the bottom with a rather annoying timer which is a bit of a bummer, however I’m almost certain that there are no black and white scenes. This also has been ‘officially’ nuked with the following as the reasons: [ El.Cantante.WORKPRINT.XviD-CAMERA ] - [ bad.ar_no.eng.subtitles.for.spanish.parts ]. The ar at least for me seems fine and as for there being no English subtitles, its a WORKPRiNT the production crew probably haven’t even added them in themselves anyway. So overall this is some nice work by group CAMERA with the advantages of this pre such as the image and sound quality being very good for such an early release outweighing the disadvantages such as the copyright notice and English subs not being available for the portions of Spanish audio. If this looks like it will interest you then download and watch this a couple of days before it hits the cinemas!

The movie is called “El Cantante” not “Puchi & Friends”. Jennifer Lopez is a supporting actress in this one.

ok well i wasnt to into this movie when they were showing the trailers but i downloaded it and watched it with my girl and the movie was incredible. i mean jlo was actually good in this movie as marc anthony he was also good. Im latino and it was a good latino movie. And for the people that nuked this there was english subtitles for the spanish parts some were just blocked by the timer at the bottem but most of them were on there just pay attention overall movie 9/10 sound 6/10 had to turn up the volume a bit

America loves to pride itself on being a nation of immigrates, but lets face it, the average American no matter how young or old can’t tell the difference between a Puerto Rican and a Mexican and there’s a huge difference, it’s all about CULTURE and in my opinion quality vs.quantity. What’s sad about what I’m reading here is these kids have no clue about what a true genius Hector Lavoe was and this movie proves his music lives ands always will.
I agree with YYZ if you don’t like this movie don’t post about it especially if you know nothing of the person that being Hector Lavoe and the great music he made. If your going to insult us Puerto Ricans than at least get it right- just shows how ignorant you are (Bush). Interestingly enough another movie entitled “The Singer” is being made about Hector funny how this one is called El Cantante. I do agree though that J Lo is not the best actress but I will give it a try since I’m a fan of Hector’s music. Viva Lavoe y mi gente =p
WORKPRINT (WP)
A workprint is a copy of the film that has not been finished. It can be missing scenes, music, and quality can range from excellent to very poor. Some WPs are very different from the final print (Men In Black is missing all the aliens, and has actors in their places) and others can contain extra scenes (Jay and Silent Bob) . WPs can be nice additions to the collection once a good quality final has been obtained.

i was a little disappointed to find out that Hector died in 93, some dumb ass friend of mine told me a long time ago that he died in 87, i could have seen him live.
he is one of my favorite, along with Raphy Leavitt but at least i got to see Raphy live!

IMO… this movie sucked ass!!!
they concentrated to much on Lavoe’s drug addiction than his music,
it just showed him as down n out and a big time drug addict,
it didnt show anything about his music or how it got to that point,
or show how he came to sing with some of the great salsa figures of that era,
what a piece of crap movie, im totaly disappointed,
it just touched on what everybody who loved Lavoe already knew, that he was this depressed drug addict that had a great voice and made good music with other great people.
i so wanted to know more…

I will look at this movie for the simple fact that someone took th time to get this free on this site. Out of respect for their work. Another group downloaded “Outlaw” That was a waste of human time, but I didn’t see this much hate and discontent. I agree with Kon Art, If you like or dislike a movie make your peace, but take the hating somewhere else.
