    Saw this via torrent after it was aired. Very good and well worth your time. For those who only know Tennant from Doctor Who it will be a bit of a revelation – he really is one of the finest British actors around currently.

    More ridiculous english propaganda. Eddington was a translator, not the "first physicist to understand his (Einstein's) ideas".
    German speaking scientists had a comprehensive understanding of relativity long before Eddinton translated Einstein's work into english.
    The situation then (between the two "world" wars) for english people was rather like it is now for amerikans. That is their ethnocentricity persuaded them to assume that they were the whole world. Just as the average amerikan currently believes the planet's issues begin and end on amerika's borders, the english used to imagine the world was encompassed between Land's End and Newcastle.
    The theory of relativity may not have existed for them until Eddington translated it, but it certainly did for the the myriad brilliant german speaking physicists, such as Nobel Prize winner Max Planck, author of Quantum Theory.

    Translator? Wikipedia describes him as an astrophysicist who is famous for his work regarding the Theory of Relativity.

    England and America assumed they were the whole world and I guess the Germans (and Axis) were 'modestly' attempting to annihalate the Jewish Race, take over Europe and install an Aryan master race to rule the world at the time?
