Description:

eBoostr™ is an alternative solution to Vista’s ReadyBoost and SuperFetch technologies now available on Windows XP

well, it works fine but the included installation notes didn’t do the trick for me as the app remained in trial mode.

After some web-browsing I found the right procedure, that worked for me:

    1. Download and install app. + Restart PC.
    2. Stop EBstrSvc.exe service from your services admin panel.
    3. Copy supplied cracked exe to install folder and overwrite.
    4. Start EBstrSvc.exe from services admin panel or restart your PC.
    5. Enjoy!

You can check if the crack worked by clicking “Help >> About” where it should read “Full Version”.

This is a cool little app. I’m sure this same app could be made up in linux with the same features except it would take major commandline work, although it should work somewhat.

I don’t believe in such softwares.
They don’t really improve performance. Its “Placebo effect” mostly.
If you run any software on XP, it will eat CPU cycles. Memory management of XP is pretty good. It dosent need such softwares. And every one who has really tested Readyboost or superfetch on Vista has found it to be utter B.S.
Think once again - This is a Software which will run on XP, use memory, how can it boost performance ?
Like saying, smoke this cigarette, its good for your lungs, if you smoke this you can smoke 10 more Cigs than usual. lol.
If you know what RAID is, you should really try it, XP has its own Software RAID too.

The slowest component of your PC is the hard-disk, exponentially slower than your CPU and RAM. I have not tried this program, however, I can see how it could improve performance by utilizing a fast usb 2.0 memory stick and a cache.

    Does this work if I have an older PC like : Intel P4 3Ghz , 1024 Ram (512X2 dual pc3200) ….
It sounds like a cheaper solution than upgarding my whole PC ?

    @12
Have you ever heard of cache and do you know how it works n00b? In short, it will use more of your RAM instead of your HDD! And Vista + readyboost is faster if you have enough memory especially Vista64! Applications will load faster!

I tried this on my laptop (core2duo 1.83, 2Gb ram, normal “slow” HDD) with a Sandisk Cruzer micro 4Gb usb stick. Certain apps starts so much faster. Photoshop that can be really slow now fires up fast as lightning.

These programs dont have much effect, the write and read speed of your ram far exceeds that of a memory stick, that means that one your memory sticks gets worn down very quickly, but it also doesnt give nearly the same performance that RAM would…

    April 22nd, 2008 | 17:49

Don’t really see how this could speed up things since both the ram and the harddisk have a much higher read and write speed than a memory stick.. typical ide disk would have a read and write speed up to 7-8 times that of a memory card/stick..

  25. Some1
    April 22nd, 2008 | 19:00

    @Drksoul

That is true when only looking at the transfer rate.
Hard disk have a seek time.
That makes them slower then memory sticks for some purposes.

But still this is generaly a bad idea.
Your adding a extra bottleneck to your computer.

Some programs will use ram depening on the avaible ram, if you get more ram the program will fill the extra ram aswel. But the fake ram you added is much slower then your real ram so parts of the program will have to wait longer as they would normaly only load into fast ram.

More ram doesen’t always mean more speed general mistake

Seems to work.Kinda…Tried it on Win2K3 SP2. What it does as far as I can see is spread the cache content in disks (4 in my case) and read from all of them simultaneously, a kind of wannabe stripe raid thingy. But what I didnt see is the memory device.Just hard disks and flash. And I would like to spend 1 of 4 GB for cache.

Imagine if i start outlook and firefox…For me it seems to work, the pc is so old i couldnt find any ram for it and i have an old mostly unused usb stick…

    @33 hellojohn,

Have you tried it yourself? This app works!

I know what you mean tho, you probably suggest I just turn caching off all togheter. I tried that. But still this app works better. EVEN now when I can only use it with HDD’s and Memory stick.

The crack is bogus, btw. It just returns to demo mode after 4 hours.

your link seems to have what we in the internets call a virus.

  43. Big Red
    April 24th, 2008 | 17:25

The CFF crack doesn’t work and likely contains a Trojan Downloader. You can see the words F**K YOU AS*H*L* inside the eBoostrCP.exe.

The Team RESURRECTiON crack seems like it works (no nag screen) and appears to be safe. However, you will notice that the program pauses after 4 hours even when installed correctly so I think their crack needs more work.

As of now, I have not seen a completely functional working crack.

  44. GioD
    April 24th, 2008 | 19:50

all scene releases use some scripts in their patches/keygens that can make some troubles with anti-virus engines, but nobody from the scene will conscious add a worm/trojan or other crap to damage your PC.
all the scene is for fun only.
it’s only a small competition of some people that have fun on cracking.
their philosophy is - download the soft, try it, then buy if you like and NOT THE SPREADING OF VIRUSES!!!

100 % working RESURRECTiON on my pc

    peace & love

  45. Big Red
    April 25th, 2008 | 17:00

I don’t disagree, but many viruses and/or trojans are spread by masquerading as real releases. It pays to be careful as things are not always what they seem. When in doubt upload to www.virustotal.com and check out those key generators and cracks before trusting that they came from the “scene.”

As for these cracks, the RESURRECTiON crack may appear to be running 100% on your pc, but if you watch, after four hours the green in the system tray icon turns to yellow and the control panel shows that the program is no longer in an “active” state, but “paused.” Rebooting your computer will restart the four hour clock and put it back to “active.”

Check it out. You will see I speak the truth.

  46. GioD
    April 25th, 2008 | 23:39

if you would even use this program, why don’t you change the page file location to the usb stick. exact same thing, no?

  48. aydin
    April 27th, 2008 | 11:53

apparently there are several versions of this, which explains the confusion about whether it works. follow the instructions about rebooting and stopping service and it works perfectly [running two days now] with the

    CFF Team 2008

    in the about section

i put this on my 8 year old dell laptop with 256mb of ram. one big problem…i have only usb 1 and the app tells me ‘warning’ since the transfer speed is soooo slow

i have not noticed any great changes in speed one way or the other so far

basically, you only need this if you have an old and slow computer, and then it is probably too old and slow to be able to use it properly!

  51. Big Red
    April 27th, 2008 | 23:46

GioD was right. I now have the Team RESURRECTiON version working for about nine hours. Possibly I installed it incorrectly the first time; possibly the release has been fixed.

This program is not the same as putting the page file on a flash drive which would be a really bad idea. Flash drives can only take a limited number of writes before they die. The swap file is constantly being written to. This program builds the cache once and then just reads from it.

  52. aydin
    April 28th, 2008 | 11:38

sorry i was wrong about the cff version. it does ‘pause’ after a time. i did not notice this because i had rebooted several times and each time you reboot it becomes ‘active’ again.

In previous versions crack did not function. It states it does, but it will pause after 4 hours unless you rebootregardless of stating it’s in demo mode or not. Just install the new ones.

I’ve noticed huge performance increase in my 2 dells p4 with only 512mb installed. Didn’t even want to try it in my quad with 4gb ram, not worth it.
