East Coast Avengers – Prison Planet

Didn’t checked this yet, im at school. But it looks good. Have fun

The Children of Reaganomics are all grown up now. Having survived two violent Bush regimes, those raised in the 80’s and molded by the 90’s are now strong enough to revolt against the wicked oppressors of the prison planet. These children, who grew up on the teachings of Marvel Comics as opposed to the New York Post, who have more faith in George Lucas’ Force than the Holy Bible, are poised to strike. What brought them to this point? Could it be the broken homes, the faulty clinical evaluations, the prescription medications or illegal drugs which have become one in the same? Or maybe it was the steady diet of Public Enemy, Paris and the Dead Kennedys? Most likely it was a combination of all of these mixed with a splash of American counter-culture by way of the Black Panthers, David Icke and Abbie Hoffman. Emerging from this equation are two unforgiving lyricists who paint storyboards vivid enough to rival Francis Ford Coppola. Stirring this pot one producer with sonic landscapes lush enough to create the soundtrack to those lyrics. Mix in current America, the Midle East, the war on terror, fear, oppression, paranoia, the war for oil, depression, mind control, homelessness, chemical warfare, sky-rocketing taxes and global warming and what do you get? The Prison Planet that we are all serving time on. The Prison Planet where our only hope is the East Coast Avengers. Esoteric (of 7L & Esoteric, The Army of the Pharoahs), trademarc and DC the Midi Alien combine as the East Coast Avengers, a trio of hip hop rebels who have answered the call and take aim at Bill O’Reilly and the religious right. Let no evildoing pundit, talk show host or politician be safe in America any longer.

I applaud whomever wrote the drivel quoted above, cramming that much concentrated stupidity and mindless self-involved whining into one paragraph of run-on sentences is quite an accomplishment.

Truly a worthy paeon to the facebook generation and their pride-in-cluelessness ethos.

Ummm, you do know that it is against federal law to threaten to kill someone or even imply same, yet you proudly show the supposed song that is titled “Kill Bill ORilley”. Just as I expressed outrage when twits on the right made statements that they wanted to kill a left leaning politician or reporter, I am doing the same here. You could have placed this on your site without mentioning this or just cropped it out. Not only did you write a complete bunch of crap (or copy it) from the Daily Kos (a disreputable sleezy site if there ever was one for the nutcases of the left) but you included an obvious implied threat? There are nutcases on both the right and the left and some even visit here, how are you sure that one of the left nutcases may not take this to heart and actually try?

RLSLOG is better then this and Ertunc should be removed from your staff ASAP!

@7 totally agree- just more revolutionary catch-phrases with no substance behind it. Are these kids known in militant/anarchist circles? no. Are they known to be politically active whatsoever in ANY cricle except the one that live sin their head? hmm. Honestly most ‘political’ hip-hop nowadays are just updated forms of Paris, PE, The coup, etc. Find your originality- coz thats all you have these days, kids- and just hopping on the anti-bush bandwagon just de-legitimizes any real type of popular revolt/social upheaval.

    Pimpin’ politics- commodifying revolt-

@7 I disagree about the facebook generation comment tho- thats one below the 80’s kids. I was born in 82 and think that most of those soulless (geez the only generation to not come up with anything original) kids were born 1988+…

@26 Its the right who are anti american, the reality is Bush’s BJ buddies in Saudi Arabia are reponsible for allowing 9/11, the whole Saudi elite are responsible and Bin Laden is a byproduct of that environment, not Iraq or Iran, yet what happens Dubya continues to suck the Saudis off at any given opportunity. Hell they were allowed to fly out of the country while the rest of America was grounded in the immediate aftermath of 9/11, surely when a murder happens the authorities would make sure that the Bin Laden family and other Saudis stuck around to be questioned? Isn’t that what happens when a crime is committed? The right have destroyed the moral standing of America, wrecked the economy, and a few more years under the Republicans and we’l end up as a third world banana republic

@30- thank you. I wasn’t trying to be all-inclusive….(maybe you were born after 88..? hehe) …but what I mean is that there hasn’t been something that really DEFINES that (and even the burgeoning generation(s) after it) generation…I wish there was. we need new, innovative ways to resist. Political hip-hop is one- however tactics wear out- and they become consumed by capitalism and the status quo- and also, unfortunately (in this case esp.) they become bandwagon folks that I’m glad to have along for the ride, but will weigh us down when that mofo catches fire- get what I’m sayin’? I hope these emcees grow and keep on the right track- they are halfway there- but can they live it? can they organize/mobilize their communities? Can or will they do whats necessary when its time to get down? Doubtful. It takes a hard life of being beaten down and SURVIVING it to really build character. Thats been proven in many sub/counter-cultures. A che shirt and soy products are hardly a beginning…just a little reality check for the so-called hardcore…
