CHiCNCREAM released updated 3.7.2 version of EarthView.

Description:

EarthView is a dynamic desktop wallpaper and screen saver, which displays beautiful views of the earth with daylight and night shadows. It produces colorful, high quality, high resolution images for every screen resolution - even beyond 1600×1200! The program supports map and globe views, urban areas, city lights, atmospheric effects, clouds, local time display and much more. EarthView supports different maps that show our planet earth in different ways, like photographic or artistic. Many options allow total customization of all view parameters. EarthView has won many awards for its absolutely breathtaking images.

EarthView supports four different beautiful maps of the earth, starting at 10 km resolution, which means that at 100% zoom level, 1 pixel on your screen equals 10 kilometers on earth. If you purchase the full version, you’ll get the possibility to download even more detailed versions of some maps, which have higher resolution. This means, they have much more detail, so you can zoom in even further!

This program uses image files to display the earth on your desktop. The installer comes with low-res images and to be able to download hi-res images from their site requires software registration details. I wasn’t that impressed and just un-installed it after looking at it.

DesktopEarth is showing a map of the, thats an option in EarthView. It cant show a global projection of the earth. In the flat-view, it is better, indeed.

DesktopEarth is a good program too, but not enough features. Would use the Earthview, but it doesnt have that option to make cities come out like they do on DesktopEarth and the clouds are better on DesktopEarth ^^

You can get clouds if you select cloud type “synthetic”. You don’t need a password or username to download clouds.
Maybe its not as pretty as the satelite photo but it’s live :D

    Hi,

has anyone an account to download the clouds for EarthView?

I have sniffed the network traffic. EarthView gets the cloads file from
    http://desksoft.fileburst.com/Clouds/clouds2.dat

Can anyone (or anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone… ;) ) with an account download this file and upload it to RapidShare?
I would upload it to my server. An appopriate line in
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc\hosts
would redirect the request of EarthView to my server, where anyone could get the clouds file without a username/password.

we don’t think it is reasonable to spend hundreds thousands dollars to buy a decorating watch. you can use those money to invest in other industry which will return you good profit.
here you just need to spend 100-200 dollars to buy a replica rolex watches.
Rado replica watches are made by the rating 1:1 according to the original watches, and you can’t distinguish the original and the fake watches when you look at the surface of the watches.
