EA announces first details about FIFA 08
Electronic Arts (EA) has announced that the popular football game “FIFA 08″ will be releasing worldwide this fall on all gaming consoles, including the PSP, PS2, PS3, Xbox 360, Wii, and DS, as well as on the PC. And what’s more, FC Barcelona’s world-class midfielder, and two-time FIFA World Player of the year, Ronaldinho, will feature on the front pack of the game, together with other soccer greats from select teams around the world. The soccer stars to feature along with Ronaldinho include: rising star, Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid; 2006 FIFA World Cup Golden Boot winner, Miroslav Klose of Werder Bremen, Germany; attacking midfielder and captain of Andreas Ivanschitz of Panathinaikos FC, Austria; Tranquillo Barnetta of Bayer Leverkusen, Switzerland; midfielder Florent Malouda of Olympique Lyonnais; and winger Frank Ribery of Olympique.
These stars, along with Ronaldinho, will feature on the front cover of “FIFA 08″ in their respective countries. They will also be motion captured for the game. Joe Booth, Senior Producer for ‘FIFA 08′ said, “We are proud to call some of the world’s best football athletes our partners. The access, guidance, and insight they give us means that ‘FIFA 08′ will create a next-gen experience that not only looks authentic, but that captures the emotion, finesse, and beauty of the game.” Adding to it, Matt Bilbey, International Director, EA Sports, said, “Ronaldinho and all the ‘FIFA 08′ cover stars bring a passion for the sport that is raw and true. They enjoy helping us bring that real-world experience into the game. Their expert skills, commitment to success, and passion for football inspire our development team, and help us make ‘FIFA 08′ the most natural-feeling football videogame in the world.”

AWFUL commentary @ PES 5/6…
If you’d really get into Fifa07 and you’d give it a chance (and i mean more than 2 hours), then you’d see it’s actually quite a good game, with the best graphics (PES6 on xbox1 still looks crap, like a vcr is connected to your tv), best commentary and quite ok gameplay (ever did the tricks and tips?).
But well, the battle of EA vs Konami continues…
yes PES 6 is extremely good..but in PES 5 the shoots were absolutely fantastic…Fifa is somewhere waaaaaaay behind..
Personally I prefere a crappy graphic but good gameplay..and I’m sure we all gave Fifa 07 more than one chance…

im a soccer fan too like most people in europe at the begining i played only fifa , after started playing por evo i saw that it was dificult at the start but then omg it looked like a real game with every play doesnt seemed equal to any other, when i got to play fifa after that i noticed weak weak AI u can score goals pretty much from the same zone and way over and over and a few other error , the only think good about it its all oficial names and the menus are also well designed
PES6 is in every aspect better.
1. You can edit all names & teams, there are so many Patches out there, really great ones, me e.g. has 5 european leagues plus all the national teams with real names. So the license-argument is none!
2. You can import high-res trikots, HD Logos, stadiums, balls etc.
Me for example has 1230 balls (250 adidas, 200 nikes, jako, puma, umbro… all you can think of), all stadiums from all european leagues (about 300) and high-res trikots for all the german clubs, a few europeans and the most played National Teams like spain, sweden, brasil, france, netherlands, Germany and others.
so.. i can tell you: Fifa has so no chance against PES6 with all the fanbase. PES6 is fun on the highest level, i play it daily with my roommate, it’s almost perfect.

Pro evolution soccer has allways been the best football franchise since it came out on the Playstation1. And it allways will be.
Only noobs or kids who like Fifa cause of its graphics.

Too make PES even more ‘perfect’, they really should import the EA commentary guys. It’s the atmosphere which makes the soccer perfect too.
I’m wondering whether Fifa08 now has a referee actually running in the field
it only appeared when receiving cards and stuff… i can’t believe they forgot that in Fifa07.. 
(well, that is for the xbox1 version, i dunno for the other consoles..)
BTW: i’m really curious how the PSP version of Fifa08 compares to the Xbox360 or PS3 version. PSP is like a PS2 right, i mean, graphically speaking..
So, how do they do this? They just build a new game as a next-gen game and then decrease it to a PSP game for example? And won’t the PS2 and PSP have reached it limits yet for games like that? (on Xbox1 there won’t even be a fifa08 anymore)

I followed FIFA and NHL until 2003, where I finally gave up on figuring out the differences between each incarnation and let go of both titles. Perhaps FIFA’10 will actually seem a bit different from its 10 year old predecessor..
Obviously the haters of fifa havent played the 360 version with the new physics engine or they really blow at playing this game. Its the most realistic sports engine ever made with real world physics and each player / object has individual dynamics. The game is incredible if you know how to play. Youre all a bunch of wankers if you still think PE is better. That game is for total nerds now.
played pes for 5 years – switched over to fifa07… @ the guy who talks about pes patches – mate i’ve had all of them but if the konami cocksuckers would at least try revamp the interface and league structure, perhaps we could get more than one “master league” and more than 4 “sections” at any one time. even with all the patches i feel like i’m playing some make believe league from mars. licenses are one thing, trying to mimic the real fifa and uefa structure is another. ea is getting better every day – 07 is many times over better than 06, while konami sat on their arses for pes6 over pes5… just because they had better gameplay doesn’t mean they should decrease their pace for improvement… i switched because i couldn’t care for that master league structured play… even with all the mods from wolf@co.
and gameplay of pes not scripted? who are you kidding… it is just more subtle – but in the end scripted is scripted… and after all it is just a video game! back to ea sports i went… and long may they prosper… next year the japs over at konami might actually try to get country names correct… serbia@montenegro ceased to exist 2 years ago… but i guess konami need a license for that too… excuses.

I still prefer PES 6 and if you guys want the best soccer on the planet getPES6 and get all the mods that comes with it.. I replace most aspect of PES6 except the awesome game play which FIFA cant match.
so my PES6 has FIFA 07 commentators…real players line up, up to date.. all adboards replace with real one..uniforms..boots..ball..everything replace to High definition graphics perfection… and best of all it’s free from these beautiful fans http://www.evo-web.co.uk/

A lot of guys say: yeah well, PES6 is the best when you have applied like a million of patches… well, in my opinion the game originally sucked bigtime. Otherwise you wouldn’t feel the urge to patch, would you?
I have the feeling Fifa08 will be awesome. I read somewhere an article of interactive commentary.. so real people (online) would comment on your game (and of course the commentators would be graded, so only the best stay in the scene). How cool would that be?
