E-Athletes 2008 DVDRip XviD-DOMiNO

Very interesting documentary film for many online gamers. Directed by Jonathan Boal, DOMiNO releases a nice 1cd rip. Read on for more info.

For a year and half we followed two professional Counterstrike teams – ‘Team 3D’ and ‘Complexity Clan’ – around the country and the globe. We filmed them in their hometowns, hotel rooms, at tournaments and even at the bars (when we didn’t have a beverage in our hand ourselves.)

Team 3D and Complexity are the top two professional counterstrike teams in the United States. They leave their girlfriends and travel the world to compete for thousands of dollars. Professional gaming has exploded in Europe and Asia, but the counterstrike community in the United States struggles to legitimize their “sport”.

if BASKETBALL is a sport, then everything from spelling bees to video games are all considered sports

@1 – what the hell, basketball is definitely a sport. thats why it usually involves nigz/very tall athletically gifted (see Shaq for a perfect example..hes good at 2 things, dunking and dunking) that can jump over 10feet and precision shooting a basket.

i'm interested in this release, but …redefining sport is tricky.

get back to your WOW or whatever mmorpg that you consider -sport- . Mastering a video game is a skill, i think sports involve burned calories. Not slowly being on the road to obese.

This is my opinion. Im not looking for a debate or argument with anyone!
My view is why does all sport require braun….if Chess, which is a skill, can be made a sport….why not video gaming. These guys are good…and they vest ALOT of time getting to where they are. Saddle them up against Michael Jordan…and he'd get his ass whipped. So…where guys are being competitve to reveal the greatest…is either war…or sport.

CS still rocks…havent played in years tho.

End of the day, basketball is a great sport, gaming isnt a sport, its a hobbie for some, a profession for others. All brilliant at what they do in their own right.

Look at the apparatus on those geeks!

Ummm…sport, as in sporting. Game, as in gaming. You can play a game that is not a sport, such as chess, or Left4Dead. You can participate in a sport that is not a game, such as a the hammer toss.

Why the h3ll would you need to call video 'games' a sport? Get a frickin' job, and an identity already!

Sport, hobby, skill, whatever, I would still kick all 4 of their a$$es at COD:WaW. My K/D ratio is usually around 100/15 in every match and most of the 15 are n00bs throwing nades.

for me? its still a sport.. sport has a lot of classifications.. and video gaming is a MIND sport, like card games and board games.. vid games are still governed by rules in a competitive manner as a sport.. im a basketball star player and can kick you guys b*tts anytime anywhere and find no problem calling vid games a sport.. nuf said..

E-sport require more then just "skill" but reflexes down to less then a second and honestly unless your body and mind is FIT for that sort of punishment almost everyday and constant eyestrain from being open to send signals to your brain at insane speed you cant really say this is not meant to be a sport as most "professionals" who play it have to keep their body in shape and eat well :P i love watching teams playing vs each other in different games as there is so much difference in how each team and player can handle extrem close situations. most people play via a visual guidance but after a while you start doing things instinctively and able to handle yourself at lightspeeds and thats what esport players practice to be good at:P however alot of times strategies prevail to the victor even when some teams can be behind very far and still have moral and guts to keep on moving to win that game.

this is the last video of one of the best British team in call of duty 4 and one of my favorites

    "They leave their girlfriends"

Ha, I used to play games at a decent level (knew what the 'top' players are like etc), and know that most of them dont have gf's. If they do, they are weirdo's.

Gaming CAN be considered as a sport imo, but to play at world-class levels, you have to be playing LOTS, plus, most would need at least a part-time job to get by (how many gamers actually make enough money to live on? Not many). So any gf they have would probably either have to REALLY love them, or be REALLY desperate (normally the latter).

man i hate all these people saying video gamers are fat lazy etc….there probably playing too,as for the girlfriend bit thats just stupid, dont know about it being a sport but people do take it very serious and more power to them there are far worse things in life than playing games, and not everyone is the same

if i wanted to watch basketball, i could go to my local zoo and watch bonobo's fling their poo at eachother, same thing really… so if basketball is a sport, then anything else on the planet including masterbation in your parents basement is far more complex of a sport

I watched it. Good movie. I am not into e-sports, but from what I saw in the movie you HAVE these typical "fat weird gamer"-like players, but MOST of the players just look and behave totally normal to me. And besides that, I have to say, some of their gf did not look bad at all. Just my 2 cents …

  48. @5even5in5 15
    February 18th, 2009 | 22:09

Because everything compared Motor sport is just a game, so shushhh. And gaming is a sport when you're in a ladder match whatever it maybe you got all that adrenelin flowing you're burning colories and competing sport, maybe you wont get it because you'rve never been there!, but it gets pretty damn intense when you really good, and not just a hack.

  49. Tron
    February 19th, 2009 | 01:13

I guess gaming has to be a sport otherwise pale, skinny, acne ridden whiteboys would have nothing to compete in. Leave real sports to the nigz and fighting to the slants….
