@20 ryan, I also had the same problem when not using the genuine rlslog links. Now I only use the proper links and check everything at www.virustotal.com. And in this case I can verify that Christian's post is entirely clean.

use the info you get from scanning your disk along with this website http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm to see what grade media you have been buying. it will help you stay away from crap fake media and get rid of one of the reasons your burn projects dont come out and you end up with costers.

so you see (@14) it does come in handy

its not stupid this actually checks the manufacturers that makes the dvds, since all the top brands are OUTSOURCED, all you know your brand of sony dvds can be made with crappy generic dye, later itll end up with crc errors.

Lot of generic brand dvds are more expensive then the good brand lols, and yet those disks suck ass, made from horrible companies thats listed under it, thats why people end up with more COASTERS and errors later on.

For Example TDK is actually a good brand, they outsource their LABel to other companies BAD COMPANY, they might be made by a cheapass company, or they might be made by a good quality company, depends on who makes it for them.

Theres a list of 1st class manufacturers on the web.

Use programs like cdspeed, to check quality of dvds and makers of the disk. Most my (VERB)dvds are range from 95-95% good, while my cheap phillips/tdk/maxwell/ritek brands are like 0-50% quality giving me errors since I got a bad round of those ~_~.

I dunno how many discs you buy that have their media code emblazoned across the packaging. I know none of the ones I buy mention it anywhere. So no you don't have be stupid, just inquisitive and perhaps interested in checking all your data backups aren't worthless.
