Does anyone know of a dvd making program besides nero, that lets you brighten and create your own menus, without the transcoding process taking forever?

It just bypasses the copyright protection.
Use Dvd Santa to convert. I use it all the time..works great.
You have to make sure you have the proper codec’s installed or it will give you an error and close down.

This is hands down the best application. For those rare times that you can’t get it to remove a CSS then use ANYDVD.
I use both and if 1 can’t get a DVD the other will…consider them both the Batman & Robin of dvd copying.
If you want to convert avi to DVD use ConvertXtoDVD. It is the best thing to use. Create your own menu’s and start. It takes about 1 hour to convert a avi to DVD.
Also u can import your own pictures as the background for the menu. For example I go to yahoo movies…find the movie and click on production photos. I find a picture that I like from the movie and use it as the background for my menu. Also easy if u have a movie with subtitles and u have to add the subtitle file seperately.
@5: I use WinAVI v.8 to transcode from AVI to Video_TS (DVD format) and then CucuSoft Burner to burn. It’s flawless. WinAVI is pretty fool-proof. It does allow you to tweak such things as lighting, you can crop the picture, etc. On DVDFab, it works quite well indeed. It is my preference when i need to… er, make backups of my home collection. . .

I use win avi, convert x, ashampoo, and dvd fab. Out of all I like ashampoo for divx/blue ray, and fab for everything else. It is an easy to use great program, but the drawback is it does not convert to divx or burn divx files. Thats why those who hate nero should try ashampoo.

1)extract ALL the zip files which will give you rar files.
2)Extract just ONE rar file which will give you the DVDFabPlatinum application install exe and a folder named “crack”.
3)run the DVDFab exe and once its installed copy (or move) the DVDFab app (6662kb) from the Crack folder to the DVDFabPlatinum folder in Program files.

I use convert X and when I burn a dvd it takes me about 1.5 hours start to finish conversion to burn. Is there anything faster out there or that does not hog the processes like convert x …. it is the fastest I have found so far and my machine is no slouch
spiroagnu try winavi. It does a great job and has a decent amount of features. It converts on average one file in about 20 to 30 minutes. I have great luck with this one, and swear by it. Just so you know tmpeg and others are not really much better either. I have them as well. WinAvi 8 is good stuff.

the result file will be a mpg-2 with a dvd compatible template,then you
use your favorite dvd buiding tool,like nero

there are too many standards and format out there,
for instance i have to demux mkv files,and use the different parts to
build a mgp2—–

@ spiroagnu, for one click ease of burning and encoding nero is the best in my opinion i have a core due 2 x 2.8mhz and 6gb of ddr2 ram running on vista ultimate and i can encode and burn a standard 700mb avi in 30 mins (if set to burn at once) the only reason convertx is slower is the burn speed is by default set to 4x and it also has no burn at once option, saying that it is the best for really high quality burns and the only burning software i use when experiencing audio sync issues with nero (tv shows for example) so nero for fire and forget encode/burn. dvd fab for copying dvd’s and convertxtodvd for burning your downloaded xvid/divx are the best combination out there….i’ve tried just about everything.
seems to have Heuristic.Archive.Bomb which can crash your malware scanners….be careful
What should I use to convert a VCD to divx or xvid avi?

I have a question.
Sometimes when burning a DVD5 with dvdfab, I get only 96% quality due to the DVD5 space, but when I use Nero and manualy add the contents of Video_TS folder, I can add all the files to DVD5 disk. So there is actually enough space.
Can someone explain this.

I used an older version of dvd fab 3.2.1.0 now im using platinum version 4 i only use the main movie option b4 on the older version i used to copy it to the temp file and burn it the whole process took like 45 min no with the new version it takes like 35 min to copy to my hard drive then a next 35-40 to burn any idea ???
or beat optins to configure for main movie copying ????
any things i can bypass to make copying faster options i can turn off uneccessary things that slow down the process ???
This app is just tooo slow. 45mins to rip a dvd on a 9450 Quad Core system with 2GB mem.
