Or .. download and install. Go to windows\system32 and remove "smc.exe"

then run "msconfig" and remove the entry in startup that runs it and you should be good to go.

Further update :

this installs "smc.exe" into the windows\system32 folder and sets it to run on startup so i'm almost certain it's a trojan

i'm not so sure this is clean – when you click on it to install, a program called "smc.exe" tries to access the internet.

before i realised this and installed it on vista, "smc.exe" ground my system to a halt every time until i killed the process.

How do you unrar this?? I have unrared thousands of files and never had an issue…. When i unrar the 2nd lot of files (noy) it asks for noy.r00 which does not exist?

The original posted download includes a keyfile that enables all features.

It's a multi-level RAR file. You have to unrar twice. The included setup file is not hacked. It has valid digital signatures.

@3 Whiplash you have to unrar with Winrar (3.8 is recommended). Then you will see 3 zip files, keep on unzipping the 1st one, then you 'll get 2 folders: Setup and Serial ones.

Install then register with the key file from the Serial folder.
