This is like 10 times better than dvdshrink. I have “shrinked” a lot. There is no doubt dvd-rebuilder is gives better quality. For some it might be harder to setup, with cce sp, EclCCE and stuff.
Any DVD-9 will look good as DVD-5…

All you really need is DGIndex, CCE, AVISynth, Vegas (or BeSweet) and a DVD Authoring program like DVD Archtect to re-encode manually. It’s good to learn the manual process for when you want to make your own home DVDs.

Did up it to torrent together with Plato…in an earlier
post as both was Rapid and I wanted it Torrent for others.
Did change the pack a bit In DVD Rebuilder as the Crack
was a bit stupid placed and so I made it more easy to find.
All ThanX went to the right people in a NFO plus that I
kept the releasers NFO’s too.

Can someone talk about whether they were able to patch the program because every version I have ever tried the crack has never worked. When you first open rebuilder you are shown an identifier code which you paste into the patch program but then you have to click get key file and it always fails since it calls home and compares it on jdobbs server. Its actually nice to see they have strong protection but I can’t even try this program pro version out. Guess I’ll have to just stick with the free version of DVD Rebuilder.

encoders will always be better than transcoders like dvdshrink, dvdfab, clonedvd etc…but the difference is very small unless the compression is very high (70% or more) and if you have a large tv 42 in or bigger it will show even more.
dvdshrink is very outdated…but it gives you a better result on high compression compared to clonedvd2…dvdfab is like clonedvd and anydvd in one program…not sure if dvdfab is better than clonedvd or shrink.
too many people follow what others say…try the different programs out and if one gives you a result you’re happy with then stick with it…even if others say something else is better lol

It is hard to explain the technical diff between transcoding and encoding dvds, just know that when you need to compress large movies to a single layer dvd encoding is the best option as long as you choose the right settings which in turn will take longer for the movie to complete.
I only use my purchased clonedvd2 to compress movies that need to shrink down to 95% of the original size. all others I encode with dvd rebuilder.

take some random 2h movie, first rebuild with dvdrebuilder and cce, watch it. then shrink the same movie and watch it again.

you will never again want to use anything like shrink. dvdrebuilder is far superior in quality.

Can DVD Rebuilder be configured to resize movie to 704 pixel width instead of 720?

This would save on some bits for long movies that have to fit on a DVD-5.

In found shrink was a CPU hog,resulting in PC crashes(which was weird as i had used it for eons without any hassles) so tried this prog a few weeks ago….
Whilst it may be superior it took me a while to fathom out the settings and when i did(as well as dling other needed bits and pieces), the many hours it took for one movie was , well, lets say not suited to my requirements….
Then i tried dvdfab platinum…perfect for me(and encodes for the ipod amongst many things too!!)

1.26.6 is legit I paid for this brilliant software and I hope those of you that find it useful for higher quality backups will consider donating as well, you also get free updates for the life of the product and the support is terrific on the doom9 forums
