not nub ware, its not alwasy easy to work out if youve reached you aup limit, usually you find out when you been limited of cut off.
just because you have no use for it doesnt make it useless.
i know i cant keep an accuract aggregate of how much bandwidth ive used in amonth, can you?

Thanks for posting this, I was in need of a good one of these type of programs so I’ll give it a try. My usenet client has 2TB downloaded so it will be interesting to see some more stats.

Not nubware for sure and could be usefull for those who don’t want to loose their provider due to excessive use of their connection. This App wasn’t half bad when I ran windows based gateway, now I just use vnstat. Thanks for heads up Nyr.

these guys’ download monitors can be handy,

hey has anyone else noticed how it is that the peeps who have been round the shortest and know the least are usually the first to call others noobs, newbs, noobz etc

It’s so 20th century. Once upon a time tossers would write the word in camelcode.
Sorta NeWbIe or something, even the tossers lost the camelcode, so I can hardly wait for them to get over newbie, except the next cliched term of endearment used by the socially challenged will prolly be equally banal.

I am gonna have to try this new version, i had a older copy which was not very accurate, it used to give bad readings of current data throughput, which made me wonder how it adds up the total data and if it was at all true.

    Thanks for the upload!!

Oh and by the way Isla fisher, to suggest this application is n00bware is just plain silly!! Maybe if this was a “PC cleaning app” then your comment may be valid.. But even then who is any one to suggest a piece of software is for noobs..

I could slag people off for being mac fans, but i don’t because it is what they like, and if that gets the job done and they are happy, then that is fair enough, right??

“just because you have no use for it doesnt make it useless.
i know i cant keep an accuract aggregate of how much bandwidth ive used in amonth, can you?”

Bert, what makes it useless is you won’t be able to do that after you install it.
There is nobody on this planet with a weekly download allowance.

The real noobz are the one calling others noobs…

  23. tfk
    June 11th, 2008 | 14:25

Ken, i tried the program, and there is of course a weekly as well as a MONTHLY, a daily, and a absolutely customizable report option, with all different kinds of output like e.g. to a html sheet. So if this works as it is supposed to do (and up to now, it does) is isn’t noobware, but a really useful program for s.o. who wants to meter his bandwith usage as well as his traffic.
If you don’t like / install n application, why care to write here? Just ignore it and leave comments to people who actually tried it and can give useful information!

@Nyr: Wow, really nice app for the first post, I barely use cracked programs (I prefer Open Source, for its obvious advantages), but I think I’ll stick to this one. Not that my traffic would be limited, by God, I live in Europe and not in America, unlimited MEANS unlimited here. :-)

been using du meter for years since du meter 3.x, now the version 4 got better with hourly report which is fairly useful for some certain peak-hours-based traffic managements.

Hi Nyr. Thanks for a brilliant first post - very useful!

As others have already said, try to ignore the n0obish comments from some of the ungrateful ‘children’ on here (if only they would stick to playing BattleToads!)

We eagerly await your next recommendations ;-)

BWMeter is the way to go. DUMeter was a nice start for me, but it cannot distinguish between a network vs just using a modem. BWmeter is able to separate your downloads from your network and the net so you can tell the difference. BWMeter also allows you alpha blending so you can make it look nice in vista. If you dont have a home network, DUMeter is fine.

BT user in the UK here. despite the more expensive “unlimited” package from my ISP, i have to be very careful how much i d/l and u/l each month. when i was with virgin i just kept it to off peak times. now i actually have to monitor the quantity of traffic. wtf ???!

I was looking for this recently, so nice rls. will also check out BW Meter, but this is cracked full version so….

this is very useful for today’s downloader who has restrictive a$$hole ISP.

Besides NetMeter, BitMeter II is another good FREE alternative.. http://codebox.no-ip.net/controller?page=bitmeter2

    June 11th, 2008 | 20:28

agree with above… NetMeter is free and good enough to see if you are maxing out your download bandwidth. It also keeps track of stats… (for example in Nov2007 I uploaded 800GB and downloaded 150GB) ((Before I suscribed to SSL Usenet)) I used to think DUmeter was the bomb… but i’ve been using free Netmeter for a few years now and am happy not having to rip off the makers of DUmeter…

    NetStat Live;

    http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network/nsl.htm

Nice line graph rather than the spiky ones every other meter uses. Also records upload and download totals since the last reboot and for the month. Completely free and perfectly stable. A whopping 257K. :)

    June 16th, 2008 | 23:21

after installing this and replacing the .exe’s, using NOPE’s crack from the 4.0.3009 release works a charm. also works if you have NOPE’s version installed first and upgrade to this one… this release by itself is not cracked though.

  54. Jimbo
    June 18th, 2008 | 13:43

yeah i agree. the only way to get this to work is to use the crack by nope as well. It can be found here:
