This evening ViTALiTY have graced us with another new game release. This time around its Driver Parallel Lines the fourth installment in the Driver series. Released well over a year ago for the ps2 and xbox this has ironically got GTA clone written all over it. This game is hard to recommend to you as the storyline and gameplay make you want to fall asleep after about an hour plus its about 5 GB in size making it even harder for me to suggest you use your bandwidth on. Hopefully the developers will get there act together for the next game in the series. ViTAliTY cracked this is super speedy time though so props to them, you wouldn’t even need to acknowledge the CLONE release from UNLEASHED.
Driver: Parallel Lines follows the story of a young New York driver TK who makes his living driving gangsters pimps criminals and lowlifes in and out of trouble using his driving skills and street smarts to make money a nd live the good life of sex fast cars and drugs. The year is 1978 TK plans to start a cocaine empire of his own but things don’t pan out quite as well as planned he gets locked up for 28 years. This fast-forwards the story to present day Manhattan where TK is set free with one thing on his mind - revenge! Open Environments provide multiply ways to complete over 35 missions. A fully engaging storyline combining state of the art cutscenes and realistic in-game interaction. Play within two very different but equally impressive NYC time zones - 1978 and 2006. Experience the thrills of over 80 customizable vehicles including cars bikes and trucks.

I’d just like to say that I have had the PS2 version for yonks, and while this is a big improvement over Driv3r, it’s gets a little tedious and boring after a while - it just smacks too much of GTA and totally fails at even pretending to be like it.

True crime has the worst gfx I have ever seen, and yes I played DRIV3R.. Or tried to with the horrible car control and and shitty game code. The game needed 15 patches at least.

O’yeah, this game is ok, not as good as gta 3 and 4. The plot is interesting, and the way the developers present the past and present is pretty cool. All in all, worth a download if you’re into these sorta games. The game play is a little shotty, but you’ll get past that with the good graphics. I never played this on the ps2 or xbox, but i’m already at the half point.

Some stupid one-sided bollocks that description of yours. This has got to be one of the best driving games to date. And got to agree with Fink, the graphics are awesome. Any GTA looks just silly compared to this, no discussion. And I’ve been a fan of the GTA series since the beginning. Besides being more realistic in every possible sense, Parallel lines is also a pleasant surprise in terms of gameplay. The storyline seems quite interesting too, and the city is huge and very detailed. This thing is a crazy ass leap forward from the not-so-good driv3r game, I think you’re an idiot to miss out on this.
