can anyone get the drivers to actually download?
In the long run, I have found it way, way easier by backuping up all your drivers onto a disc. So when reformat time comes, you dont have to go looking, just pop in the disk, and may just have to do a few updates for some drivers.
core10k.exe is missing and this isn’t on eny predb?

I just have a driver folder with a folder for easy piece of hardware inside, eg: SATA, CHIPSET, AUDIO etc. These are numbered from 01-XX to show what order you install them in. To install them, just go to device manager and right click on everything and go “update drive” and point it to the rot driver folder. This will install all the drivers with you in control, not some app that could mess up.

@16 Most anti-virus app will detect keygens or keymakers as harmful. This download is safe.
Ya I can never tell if its just picking up keygens and cracks or not. I’ve just picked up too many viruses over the years from dloads so I try to play it safe.

Why not just image your hard drive after fresh install. Acronis True Image works great.
haha all you virus scanning maniacs. i never use AV and i have never had a problem. just surf smart and use sandboxie
great app by the way. i used it to dump all 3rd party drivers into a folder so i could slipstream them into my windows installation cd with nlite. flawless!
Didn’t scan this.I like driver magician more,and previous editions of this couldn’t get them to download the drivers anyway,lol.If it works it may be useful

You know if you check the company’s website, the latest version is 7.1.622 as of July 15, 2008… how is this release already 8.0? something’s fishy here. Moose Jaw saw a few, Moosomin too, Runnin’ back to Saskatoon. Red Deer, Terrace and a Medicine Hat Sing another prairie tune. haha.
Also… @24, I concur. I could never get Driver Genius to download the new updated drivers correctly. They’d download to a directory of my choice, then the archive claims it’s corrupt after you click on it to install it. Even using the “update device driver” in system properties (you select the directory which driver genius apparently stored them) and it says there are no drivers in that directory. The only thing I found this program useful for is making a self installing backup archive of my existing drivers. I still had to visit every one of my hardware manufacturer’s website and manually download each individual driver for each piece of hardware.

Is there an app or a way to make a cd of my current setup. What I mean is, on the rare occasion when my computer crashes, I have to install win xp, then go to ms to download TONS of updates, and service packs, THEN go through the laborious ritual of reinstalling all my apps, drivers and so on. Any suggestions would better my life enormously.

That was a very noob thing to say… Use sanboxie? And you do you know there is an infection in your sandbox enviroment or not? Do you think every virus and/or trojan will just flash itself and say “hi! you’re infected!”? Or do you manually control and check by reverse engeneering every registry entry and every file added to your system32 folder?
Bottom line, if you install dubious stuff of the internet without an antivirus, how do you know you’re not infected right now?
If you have risky behaviour with your computer i would bet that if you run a viruscan with a good antivirus you will find at least one bug in it. In fact, i would be willing to risk saying that you’ll find several.
Just becuse a virus doesn’t do something you can actually feel happening it doesn’t mean it isn’t there. Try using a credit card in such an unprotected box and you’ll probably get a nasty surprise…
Process explorer is one tool to check for dubious things.And you don’t sound like a noob,but you obiously haven’t read the description of sandboxie .You can’t install drivers in it.And sanboxie is perfect for keygens not for keeping installed programs(few can properly install inside and work inside it).

You run the keygen in sandboxie, copy the key to paper or notepad or whatever, and close the sandbox, undoing anything any virus would have done. Obviously this doesnt work if it needs to patch something, but for keygens you are safe.
Dont Download won’t update drivers it just fails.Then when it does connect to download drivers it doesn’t get to 100% it just stops!.
Anyone actually had success with this?

finally worked for me after about a million tries…annoying
Very annoying program.. liveupdate freezes alot.. driver updates freeze after 2 seconds of downloading.. it says the file is completed downloading but says it has only completed 1/3rd downloading leading to a corrupt archive..
Only useful thing it does for me is to show me the filename of the update..
One more thing it says it has 20 criticle updates but only shows 4 of them!! and when i first used it i had the save dir to my external HD and when i changed it on the optionss menue and tried re-updating drvers still showed it as downloading to ‘E:/’!!!
Anyone know how to delete all the entries in the download manager?
