Drillbit Taylor looks like a film that is potentially very funny. Most films from members of the Frat Pack have proven to be very funny in the past (Anchorman has become almost legendary). Owen Wilson has given some pretty hit and miss performances lately with films like “You, me and dupree”, but hopefully this one will be enjoyable. The IMDB rating looks very promising for a comedy film at 6.3, but the RT rating not so much at 24%. This might very well be another case of a bunch of dry reviewers without a sense of humour.

Quality:  This rls by PreVail actually looks really good for being a cam. Both video and audio quality are about as good as it gets with a CAM. Might be a while until an R5 appears so if you’ve been waiting on this and don’t mind a cam, go for it.

When three high school students tire of being harassed by bullies, they hire a bodyguard named Drillbit Taylor to save them. Owen Wilson (WEDDING CRASHERS) stars as the tough guy of the title, who poses as a teacher at their school to keep an eye on the trio. Seth Rogen (SUPERBAD) co-wrote the film, while Judd Apatow earned credit as a producer.

    Another case of a bunch of dry writers and producers that have no sense of humour.

    Hopeless and pathetic comedies like this, Knocked up, Superbad and a few others, deserve to fell into oblivion for good.

    Excuse me? Have you even seen this movie? I saw it opening night at my movie theatre, and it was hilarious! It’s one of the funniest movies I’ve seen in a while… I don’t like Superbad that much, but I like this one a lot! I guarantee it’ll make you laugh, as a lot of it is pretty random :D

    I thought superbad was hilarious but all that packs other films like knocked up, I just didn’t find funny.

    The problem with these Hollywood comedy packs is that they just end up pumping out so much garbage.

    Like Will Farrel just makes one crappy film after another in quick succession. Problem is, Anchorman was really only mediocre. Really doesn’t justify so many more films.

    Hehe…expressing an opinion regarding the value of a comedy is still allowed as far as I know. If you don’t like my personal taste, I really don’t care that much. I would take High Fidelity, Monty Python, Death At A Funeral or even Thanasis Veggos any time instead of these dull attempts at comedy.

    I enjoyed ‘Knocked Up’ but loved ‘40 yr old Virgin’ much more. ‘Anchorman’ was painful to watch though. Such obvious turgid unfunny jokes. Great idea but hopeless execution. People just can’t make sight gag type comedy anymore, not like ‘Police Squad’ or ‘Airplane’ or ‘Top Secret’. ‘Anchorman’ tried to be a sight gag comedy and a ‘normal’ style comedy and failed miserably. Maybe this is ok, will give it a go.

    U miss the point ppl. Nobody said that these comedies are the best comedies ever, masterpieces etc. They are funny and easily watchable that’s all. Even if you don’t like them at all you can’t come here and whining about something that even the creators of the movies don’t believe.
    If you want art and culture say “I ‘ll pass” and leave these release alone.
    btw, if you are so worried about the films and no good movies nowadays bla bla … buy them and watch them at cinemas.don’t busting balls for something that its free

    Well, I don’ think that they were funny at all. Sorry man, but that’s my opinion as well. It’s not about art or culture. We are talking about comedies here anyway and those mentioned films didn’t make me laugh at all.

    I have enjoyed many silly comedies in the past, but not those or even this one. And if someone in here has the right to praise it, any other has the right to whine about it. Reality, that’s all.

    Trampakoulas, why are you getting all high and mighty telling us “I still have the right to believe that these comedies are not funny at all” and “I thought that everyone is free to state their mind”?

    We can call you an idiot all we want and make our own statements disagreeing with you by your same logic! We have the right to freely state our minds as well, and if we think you are a fool, we can say so!

    BTW Superbad was hilarious and it was not politically correct at all, I don’t know where you get off saying that! I agree Juno was over-hyped and not very funny as was knocked up. I only saw Knocked Up because of the people in the movie, and I only saw Juno because my friend payed for the tickets, either way they were both enjoyable even if they weren’t that funny.

    I guess there’s a big difference between stating “this films sucks big time” and “you are like a tiny arsehole, because you think so”. We shouldn’t even quarrel over this in the first place, because it’s too damn obvious. Taste is totally subjective and it’s ok if you happen to find crap, what the majority praises as mastepiece, and vice versa. It’s foolish though to think that others are idiots just because of this.

    You can think of him as idiot, but, really, that doesn’t make you any less either.
