PLOT: The story begins with Goku, who seeks out upon his adoptive grandfather Grandpa Gohan’s dying request to find the great Master Roshi and gather all seven Dragon Balls. Of which he has one, in order to prevent the evil Lord Piccolo from succeeding in his desire to use the Dragon Balls to take over the world. And Goku’s quest is to obtain the mystical Dragonballs before Piccolo does.

….or at me. This movie isn't bad for a movie, IF you have no idea the story behind it lol. I watched it cause I have plenty of time to spare. I had no idea what was going on but it wasn't as terrible as some of you make it seem. Although the acting wasn't the greatest and the plot was kinda screwy. Overall I may give it a 5 of 10 lol but not a 0.
Just my 2 cents though and maybe its just cause I have absolutely no background in anime and really dont like it.
Also to whoever said that the audio was a 5, its not that bad, its an R5 for petes sake. It may be lower quality than normal but for an R5 I'd give it an 8. and the video is also just fine for an R5.

Wow, this film is crap, I watched it thinking it might have gotten low scores because it didn't do justice to the original manga…but nope this film just sucks from acting, to storyline to charactor development to effects, avoid at all cost.

my understanding is that Dragonball is like a religion for a lot of people. so when the film makers screwed it up by changing the story lines around, the fans get angry. but if the film makers stay truthful to the original story lines, the fans wouldn't be as angry. this goes for many other stories, such as Watchmen, Superman, Ironman, Hulk, Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat etc.
I am curious to find out how people who never read Dragonball before would react to this film.

Whoever is converting these movies; stop leaving glitches on them. Once burned to DVD, some of these movies freeze!
This is actually not a bad movie.
It is based on a cartoon/anime, so don't expect much. It's whimsical and outlandish, but with a name like Dragonball Evolution I don't exactly expect Coen Brothers or Shakespeare dialogue.
It tries to be fun and it succeeds.
