when i try and join the files together (hjsplit), the resulting file – vty-0273 – says that its only packed 1mb/18mb…

guys this is the same stuff from the previous 1.01 with the last 3 entries in the changelog being the b edition. the things that deal with the problems in the windows game explorer, and the runtime libs to fix these issues

I have just downloaded this from mininova. There is one file DragonAge1.01b.exe, which can be unpacked to DragonAge1.01b.exe again and codec.exe – probably virus.

I downloaded a 1.01 before and this is a 1.01b.. whats the main difference between both ?
Does this patch require anything for the previous releases to work? I guess what I mean is will the game just work after installing this or will I need a new crack?
um what do you do with the files? .001 files usually need hjsplit which does nothing helpful. Great instructions on this one.

@30 and 31 – Use winrar to extract them.
The files in the hotfile offered by rslog in the post are clean btw.
who said anything about using hjjoin? open the first .001 file with winrar, extract, install….cannot be any simpler

The patch itself contains a critical worm (not the crack)… It creates a file on your User’s directory (for Win7) or C:\Documents and Settings\…\ (for XP). This file automatically runs a the process as another svchosts.exe even if the game is not running…
MS Security Essentials detected it for me and mentioned that it automatically connects to the internet… To remove my doubt that it was an antivirus mistake, I installed the original 1.01b from the Bioware website… Of course it did not work, but the installation proceeds and nothing was detected by the antivirus…
In conclusion, Vitality did dome trick here, I was expecting it to be some sort of a Trojan to backdoor the application and tweak the patch installation but instead its a Worm that connects to the internet (for what purpose? we don’t know)
can we use the toolset from the official bioware site for this release?
