Another BluRay release here and another one im making a staff pick ;) Ive seen this movie so many times and still love it, i actually just watched it again about 2 days ago and its still brilliant. The movie is loosely based on the real-life events of Joseph D. Pistone, a FBI agent who infiltrated the Bonanno crime family, one of the Mafia’s Five Families based in New York City during the 1970s, under the alias Donnie Brasco. I highly recommend watching this movie if you havent seen it before, this is also the extended cut which runs for 20 minutes longer than the normal version, enjoy!

Joe Pistone (Johnny Depp) is an FBI mole who integrates himself into the Mafia pecking order by posing as “jewel man” Donnie Brasco. He finds his loyalties divided when Lefty Ruggiero, a jaded hit man, takes him on as a protégé and places real trust in him. The two men form a friendship and a criminal partnership that jeopardizes Brasco’s mission and obscures the boundaries between the law and the underworld.

However, Ruggiero refused to cooperate with the FBI and even tried to bail himself out of jail. The mafia in turn cancelled the contract on his life and gave him a "pass".
