Donkey Xote PROPER CRACK ONLY-ViTALiTY

A yesterday’s release of low-budget adventure Donkey Xore didn’t raise much enthusiasm in our comments but those of you who actually downloaded the game and tried to play it might experience certain issues: the crack from RELOADED worked fine, but the game was cracked by using a virtual machine emulation once again, which is considered bad in the scene. The usual argument for not using VM is a significant boost in the speed - emulation takes some of your system resources, which may be missing in the game itself. However, I’m quite sure you don’t need a top-end computer for Donkey Xote, so this proper crack is practically useless, and it’s just one of these neverending scene fights.

    Seriously what is the point of releasing PROPER cracks for games which have already working cracks and doing that all the time(Turok, etc).

    i think what the scene needs is the absence of group names… no more byt*hing from little girly groups then.

    Sometimes there is a major difference in preformance between Reloaded and Vitality cracks. Reloaded really does a bad job at cracking SecuROM and should abstain from releasing VM cracks. For example, NFS ProStreet was unplayable for me due to being really slow when using Reloaded crack and MUCH smoother with Vitality one.

    @SadGamer: The scene is a competition - who cracks better - and follow rules. Those rules where made to keep the scene safety and avoid many releases for the same game. If a crack is bad, the cracker group can post his own proper else other group can do it.

    @Pop006: Many games reaches the P2P the same way it reaches the Torrent. The difference is: torrent keep the file structure while P2P create a only file, rename it and share it finally.
    Crackers don’t wants the scene public.
    Crackers don’t share.
    Other share - those who shares the releases looks for glorification.

    When the game is released with some VM-enabled copy protection like SecuROM, the ORIGINAL runs WITH the VM and is supposed to work just fine, at least that’s what one would expect …

    So I don’t see how releasing a patched version which still (partly) uses the VM code is perse a “bad crack”. Ofcourse stripping the VM and rebuilding the code will make it run faster, but the chance of error and incompatibility is also much greater, since more code/data is changed compared to the copy-protected original.

    On the otherhand one could argue that stripping the VM will give you a more “virgin” (thus the more performant) code, but the retail was still released with the VM.

    While for crackers the technically more challenging “rebuilding” might be considered “superior”, it’s not necessarily the case for the “end-user”.

    Both “fighting” groups have released some bad cracks in the past, but the seem more busy with throwing mud at eachother lately than doing proper releases in the 1st place …

    @11 El-Dopa:

    Your just guessing how you think these are cracked. they are not even like the original, they EMULATE the vmcode, which makes EXTRA routines to be processed CONSTANTLY within the exe while its being run on your system (hence the LARGER file size too). this is what makes RLD cracks crap. the only reason they release still is to show they got the game out first & dont care about a nuke, they have so many to begin with already. they release first & dont bother to properly crack, the only reason they win first to release cuz its a quick/cheap fast crack.
