    @3 Doctor Who is not about the CGIs special effects and all the crap, it’s about the humor!

    Meh, it fails even at that. What’s more, I find that in this season trying to make out what the actors are saying has gotten even worse, what with that ginger cow shrieking her way through the dialogue parts. Plots have stayed consistently lame so far as well.

    The post’s image is a pretty hilarious comment though (I wish Martha was still the sidekick). I wonder if it was intentional…

    It’s definitely a bad choice with the casting of Catherine Tate. That woman isn’t remotely funny and is just a plain nuisance.

    “But should they warn the residents of the catastrophe that is about to befall them, or leave them to their fate?”

    As if this show was original enough to even consider option 2.
    I get the impression that this is just another show about some kind of (practically super) hero.

    I agree that Tate has really ruined the show, however, I think she will soon be gone, they say this season will be the greatest ever, and if anything can beat last season, especially the end, WOW. SO, I suspect her to go away soon.

    @3 and everyone else that thinks it is horrible, well, it is, it always has been and it is SUPPOSE to be. It sort of IS a child show. It is designed as a family show, and a lot of you might be too young to remember, probably the whole lot of you. But I am sure the older ones all remember sitting down as a family to watch the doctor. The horrible acting is part of the show, it is what makes it so great. They just “go”. No making it absolutely perfect, just make it as odd and quirky as possible yet still understandable. That is why this show has been running for how many decades? Granted it has breaks, but it started in the black and white days, and people STILL love it, that says a LOT for any show that has achieved that…

    @21 - perhaps you should WATCH the show before complaining about how the episode turns out, I think your own comment might come back to get you.

    Yeaaa Tate is not all that bad but I think it would more appealing if a young sexier women accompanies the Doctor I would be watching the episode twice more :D

    The show is in no way some “new” show about some superhero…. It is the worlds longest running Sci-Fi show and scheduled to be the longest running show EVER. It is also a HUGE part of british culture. It initially ran from 1963 until 1989, move in 1996 and then the series relaunched in 2005… It has made history all over the place, and is normally an inspiration for most writers…

    As far as episods, we get this season, with Tate (who sucks) but then we get martha back, AND Rose, and of course captain jack, EVEN Sarah Jane Smith returns this season. So Tate is just here temporarily. The the series ends, with 3 episodes planned for 2009 and another full relaunch in 2010…..

    “I get the impression that this is just another show about some kind of (practically super) hero.” Really… come on and do at least research the show FIRST.

    This is History, one of the most amazing tv shows of all time, I mean, really, some of you have to be like 12…. and if you are, I suggest you watch it, it will continue, and your not going to get half of the writing styles coming out of Britain until your familiar with the Doctor.

    @22
    “But I am sure the older ones all remember sitting down as a family to watch the doctor.”

    You do realize most here are not British?
    I for one had never watched Doctor Who, still knew it is some strange show with Daleks when this new series (of 2005) started. So watched all the earlier shows that were available that I found in “TV links” (gone now) to pass time.

    As lots of the things are supposed to be known beforehand, it would be a really good idea for someone who has not seen it before, to read the Wikipedia article to understand the story a bit better.

    Dont understand why people are complaining about the CGI, its good enough.

    a huge part of british culture? hardly - it’s popular with a few webnerds and the office simpleton.

    That’s like claiming star trek is a huge part of american culture, the people who like ST may think so, but everyone else just thinks they are BO-smelling nerds.

    Ive loved the doctor who series since it restarted, and im also with everyone who thinks the current sidekick needs to be kicked out. from the previews last year it looked like she may not be in a whole lot of episodes though, lets hope thats true.

    Oh yea, and you really should get the x264 version from mininova posted above. :)

    The show ends in them leaving pompeii to its destruction, because he can’t just randomly alter the time line like that. Good job you presumptious douche.

    @3
    Having watched every episode since #2 (and I mean #2 as in the William Hartnell series in 1965(%)) I am an addict. I missed the first episode - and didn’t have anything to talk about on Monday with all my friends who had watched it.
    The original series was a kid’s programme shown at 5pm on a Saturday - and if you think the CGI is bad now try watching the flexible cardboard sets in the early series. And I’m still envious of whoever stole the Dalek which the BBC had loaned to a Sci-fi conference - it never arrived back.

    Why the hell do people who absolutely hate this show or have no intention of downloading, just come in and post utter sh*t. If you don’t like the show then f**k off!

    Thanks for posting this :D Another great episode, and way better than last weeks “Partners In Crime”. Gonna stick this on my iPod and watch on my lunch break at work :D

    I’m in the US and I’ve been watching Doctor Who since the mid 1980s, which is when a local channel started airing Tom Baker’s episodes. It didn’t last long though, but luckily it moved to Public TV, where they aired all the existing episodes up to Sylvestor McCoy taking over the role. Unfortunately, they never aired his episodes in this area.

    Personally, for the new companion, I think they should have brought back the character of Sally Sparrow from last season’s episode Blink. Not only was Carey Mulligan quite attractive, but her character was likable and intelligent.

    From what I’ve read, the current show isn’t “ending” this year and being “re-launched”, it’s just going on haitus to give David Tenant a chance to be in something else.

    @45 cdntcareless,

    Don’t be envious of the thief who stole an official Dalek, build your own!

    http://www.dalekcity.co.uk/

    Not only can you build exactly the Dalek you want, you can proudly show it off without any guilt. :)

    There are several videos on YouTube showing fan-made Daleks in action.
