Doctor Who S04E01 WS PDTV XviD-ANGELiC

A popular action-adventure TV show Doctor Who returns in the fourth serie and I couldn’t miss this release and not remind it here. Ripped by British group ANGELiC, this is a standard 350 MB forty-minute episode – and it starts pretty good. A must have for all Doctor Who fans.

During an alien emergency in London, a woman called Donna Noble must search for an old friend who can save the day – a man named the Doctor. But can even the Doctor halt the plans of the mysterious Miss Foster?

    @3,5,6

hey hey people, stop with the beeb-hating! sure this episode is rather rubbish, but its been written by (self-styled series reinventor and ‘head writer’ : ie – takes a lot of credit for other people’s scripts) Russel T Davies, who, for all his producing abilities and commercial nous, cant write a good script for toffee.

watch the episodes written by steven moffat, and youll see how good british sci fi CAN be. it just usually isnt. Russel T. likes his episodes to be hammy and dramatic, like pantomime almost, and entertaining for the kids. Moffat goes for making as many kids as possible hide behind their sofas.

series 1: the empty child / the doctor dances
series 2: the girl in the fireplace
    series 3: blink
series 4 (not aired yet): silence in the library / forest of the dead

consistently the best episodes of each season (blink is fantastic – download it and be afraid)! so dont judge the whole beeb on one episode!

and yes, torchwood is a bit lame. its getting better though, the most recent series was way better than the last. but its not really made for your traditional sci-fi audience: its more of a drama/comedy (a bit like buffy really… but less pretty to look at), that just happens to have aliens in it. i mean, my parents (who are approaching retirement, hate sci-fi and have rather good taste in films) think its wonderful, so fair enough to them. i can take it or leave it, but i wouldnt want it off the air, cause its really not that bad.

besides which, since when was the US so untouchable with its sci-fi? battlestar galactica has some great acting and stories, sometimes, and sometimes its just lame.

speaking of BBC sci-fi/fantasy, a new series entitled “being human” was piloted a couple of months ago – should start airing soonish. its about a vampire, a werewolf and a ghost who try to settle down into normal life, but theres a good old fashioned war between vampires and humans about to start. its very well written, and has some (but not all) excellent performances in the pilot. the girl playing the ghost is especially good. its even more like buffy, in terms of humour and style (and the way it doesnt dwell on the fantasy element but rather looks at who the characters are, rather than ‘ooh he’s a scary vamp!’), but told from the monster side of the fence, and with a good healthy dose of britishness (id actually describe it as buffy meets withnail and i)

so check that out, and stop with the beeb bashing – you dont like it, and i agree that this episode is godawful, but dont write off all british sci fi, thats just dumb.

oh yeah, and i agree, catherine tate is the daughter of satan and should be removed from all television shows immediately.

Thoroughly atrocious episode. My mouth was agape at the awfulness of the cgi, the concept. Gumbys made from fat that wave at you as they drop off your flesh. Russell T Davies should be stricken from Dr.Who and television. How many more episodes will this flamboyant tool set in a building/corporation run by an evil alien. From the greatness of Blink to this childish crud. Please.

Every point you made is bang on. Russel T Davies should be banished from Dr Who and write for g*****ay porn exclusively. A profession I’m sure he’ll adapt to quite nicely. How can anybody watch this cheap rubbish the CGI is far worse than something made 20 years ago !! the acting if you can call it that is just plain unprofessional, the sets are cheap and small and the locations they use are just the same old abandoned warehouses they seem to use in every episode, i mean what kind of person would find any part of this show watchable !?. If you want to watch something with a little more depth, good writing and stories and at least looks like it had a bit more money time and thought put into it them watch something like Stargate, Battlestar Galactica or Star Trek ect…

@46 – shut up, you have no idea what you are talking about. How can 13 million viewers = rubbish? I admit, it is a poor start and ‘Tate’ is not ‘Who’ material. But give em a chance. As for your star trek etc….. shup up pal…. look at the difference in budgets… quite substantial. Why…. cos us British do not feel the need to waste money. I th9ink you will find the American networks have about 20 shows per year that don’t make it… they lose lots of dollar!….. you make good movies but you waste a lot of money getting there.

Anyways, here are the links to the two last Doctor Who torrents….

    TIME CRASH:

Created for the BBC’s Children In Need televised fund raiser, this mini-episode takes place between Last Of The Time Lords and Voyage Of The Damned, wherein The Doctor meets someone he never thought he ever meet.

Series 4, Episode 00: Voyage Of The Damned:

In this, which was the 2007 Christmas Episode, The Doctor ends up on a starship which is patterned and named after the Titanic, but someone wants this Titanic to meet the same fate as it’s namesake. Will The Doctor save the day, or is this situation just too big for The Doctor to handle?

Just checked the SciFi Channel schedule, and the window between the airing in England and the airing in the US is incredibly short for Series 4.

Voyage Of The Damned airs on April 18 and Partners In Crime airs on April 25. At least The Sarah Jane Adventures is airing along with Doctor Who to make a Doctor Who block.

Trust your cashier when he says “Don’t watch it on SciFi due to SciFi snipping away at the episodes due to time constaints, torrent it instead!”.

Not every episode has to be hard hitting sci-fi. Dr Who is one of the few that can mix it up. Just watch a few minutes of old Dr Who and you’ll see how camp this this show was.

If Blink was the episode with the statues, then I, as a 21 year old man, can say that’s the creepiest episode of anything that I have watched recently!

But yeah Dr Who is quite awful for the most part and I rarely watch it unless I happen to sit down in front of the TV and it’s on.

I saw the season finalé of Torchwood the other day. At least I think it was the finalé, it had that feel to it. And my God that show is awful. With Dr Who you know it’s aimed at kids, so of course it’s gonna be kinda bland for adults. Torchwood on the other hand, is supposed to be more of an adult show, yet it relies on the same camp humour, terrible effects and falls completely flat.

It’s a kids show that isn’t for kids. Well it is for kids, but says it isnt. There’s a bit of blood but other than that it’s Dr Who based in Cardiff and without the only decent actor: David Tennant.

obviously you’re a minority. a very minor one at that, judging by the viewing figures.

  72. ssrat
    April 7th, 2008 | 04:11

OK I guess I am a minority here but I like all the series (overall)- including the SJA, which was REALLY rocky for the first season.

As for the tech BEHIND it, well considering that each episodes budget is less than the Re-FX for TOS they do pretty well.
This one was a nice “getting to know you” show but I do agree that she can’t be abrasive all the time.

Torchwood 13 IS the last of the season and it looks like the way the actors spoke that as far as they know the “end” of “some” is official.

THe only thing I do not like is that thanks to the limited availability of crew, and it all being run by RTD, is that as original done they have to be shot one after another, so until repeats there is no chance of a night of them all

Ps. cant wait for the “friendly episode”

  73. Tom
    April 7th, 2008 | 05:39

Dr who has been around since the 70’s, it had very cheesy special fx. I for one love the fact that they continued to do this, imo it is most likely on purpose.

Season 1 and 2 where really good, Go Rose. It has kinda gone downhill since then, except for a few excellent episode, blink being one of the best.

Davies has some brilliance in his writing, but he has no follow through. He always mucks it up, but without him, there would BE no return of Dr Who.

Hopefully the return of….well it isn’t really a spoiler, it has been in the news since November 07 she will be back for 3 episodes. I just hope this one doesn’t count as one of them.

” It’s a kids show that isn’t for kids. Well it is for kids, but says it isnt. ”

How about saying its a kids show for those were kids in the 60s,70s,80s?

The story in say, Galactica, is far superior, but it is not done so well, it is always the same whereas in Dr Who there are the elements that stay but the surroundings change quite a bit which makes Dr Who worth watching. Some episodes are not good, some are but at least they are not all the same.

To date we haven’t yet cancelled any shows 6eps in after spending thousands making it and promoting it all over the tv. Doctor Who is one of the longest and most recognised British sci/fi’s ever made. And if you don’t like it, don’t watch it, don’t download it, don’t come on here commenting on how rubbish YOU think it is, when you haven’t even seen it or because you cant drool over a HOT character. Catherine Tate was brilliant, it’s about time the doctor had a companion that doesn’t find him the least bit attractive, she was brilliant in this episode and I found her brilliant in the Runaway Bride. And I will agree that the story line was a bit childish, but its a family show, you wanna see sex and violence and swearing go watch torchwood, cause not many other people are watching it(My own opinion on it, don’t like it lol). But don’t come on here to leave comments on how bad the British are at doing this and doing that, its not funny, its not big and it aint clever. So if you don’t like it, don’t comment on, watch, download or read about it. Just go do something else with your time.
    Russell T. Davies Is Brilliant.

    @85

    Relax on all the haters.

I love Dr Who, but like you don’t like Torchwood . Well the first season was Ok, i quit after the first ep in the 2nd season.

The BBC has some of my favorite shows right now

Dr Who (Watched since Tom Baker)

The Office – Ripped Of by America

Extras – Will prolly get ripped off in America, and see a trend with Ricky Gervais?

The IT Crowd – Was going to get ripped off by America but think it got cancelled.

Overall American TV pisses me off, every time I get wrapped up in a great show like Journeyman, they cancel it halfway through the season.

I wish I could take a stupid pill, so that could sit around and be happy watching reality TV.

all this palaver over a kids tv show.

Yes it’s badly made, yes it’s cheesy, yes it’s boring for adults. But that doesn’t matter because it’s not aimed at you. It’s childish fun for children, kids don’t get much these days so leave them something.

doggybag: there is nothing ironic here at all, and irony works incredibly well on television. Just look at some of charlie brookers stuff.

    @ Paul Lloyd

    Spot On!!!!

I agree with what you said. I have been watching for 26 years (Tom Baker was my first Doctor and ROBOT was my first story). Yes, the series is made for children, but it’s there just to have fun. You know the Doctor is going to save the day, so just sit back and enjoy the ride.

I did enjoy The Runaway Bride, and that we REALLY needed a lighthearted story after the truly saddening last few minutes of Doomsday. Catherine Tate certainly did her part in Runaway Bride, and I say this to the Donna-Haters out there: She wasn’t that bad in Partners In Crime.

Well, I’m happy that Series 4 has finally started proper, and I hope to see more posting of episodes.

    @12 Caffro,

Love & Monsters was possibly the worse episode of the new Doctor Who. I read that the Doctor and Rose were reduced to almost cameo roles to give them more time to work on the season finale. In any case, the story that made up the bulk of the episode just sucked.

Blink from last season was another Doctor-lite episode, but it had one of the best plots of the season. Not to mention, a fairly hot guest star. :)

Like any show, some episodes are good and others are pretty bad.

Listen you BBC haters, They make some of the best dramas in the world. Dr.Who’s pretty much for kids though still pretty good. Torchwood is more adult and varies between average and exellent. What do other countries offer?
