You don’t get a chance to listen Japanese hip hop every day, but this release from DJ Mitsu the Beats is simply too wicked to ignore. Released under label Planet Groove, his new album A Word to the Wise is a slightly different take at hip hop music.

Japan has a long tradition of talented DJs and beatmakers – DJ Krush, DJ Honda, Muro and more recently Kentaro. Another Japanese producer and DJ whos made a name for himself worldwide in the last few years is Mitsu the Beats, the alias of a diminutive yet very talented Sendai City native who stormed everyones favourite charts a few years back thanks to his first solo LP, A New Awakening, and his groups, GAGLE, first album.  igned to the Jazzy Sport label in Japan, Mitsu the Beats soon found himself being name checked by the likes of Pete Rock, Gilles Peterson and DJ Spinna after relasing his LP. 2009 is the year of his second album a word to the wise, a wonderful mix of hiphop/jazzy/funk/soul sounds.

    @1 is a .exe, I'm pretty sure that most of these(.exe) are thought of as dangerous, so can someone explain why anyone would pack it this way, what is the benefit, otherwise I would say to avoid that one.

    @8 – akirape, is the same file as @1, and freakin' .exe, even though mcaffee and counterspy aren't finding anything why pack as an .exe?? :(

    usually the exe are a zip which you then have to run through another zip..like for one release I had to unzip about 4 times…no benefit…its a f***in nightmare to say the least….
