Dizzee Rascal - Maths and English (2007)

He’s such a rascal, he’s such a rascal, he’s such a rascal….yes its’ Dizzee Rascal! UK grime artist is back with a his third album “Maths and English”. Many of you maybe know Dizzee from his first album “Boy Ine The Corner” which was such a big hit in the UK and also globally. I think he was the first grime/hip hop artist from the UK to actually to make it big. For those who don’t know Dizzee i recommend you listen to “Boy in the corner” i’m telling you, you would just love the whole album!. I was watching a documentary last night about Dizzee and his new album and guessing from the documentary this album will also would be massive hit from Dizzee Rascal. Anyways his album drops today but still there isn’t a torrent on a public tracker but when it’s out i’ll post it!

Dizzee Rascal returns with his new album ‘Maths & English’. Written entirely by Dizzee, the album features contributions from the Arctic Monkeys (’Temptation’) U.S rappers UGK (’Where Da Gs’) and Newham Generals (’Lemon’) as well as production credits from long-time collaborator Cage and also Shy FX, who produces the track ‘Da Feelin’ Other highlights on the album include ‘Pussy Ole’ that’s built around the Lyn Collins track ‘Think About It’, the debut single ‘Sirens’, and the amazing ‘Wanna Be’ which sees Dizzee joining forces with Lily Allen as they throwdown their lyrical assault over a cheeky sample from Bugsy Malone, with Future Trax taking care of the production dutie.

Dylan Mills, known professionally as Dizzee Rascal (born November 1, 1985), is a London-based MC/rapper and producer. He is formerly a Roll Deep crew member, who emerged from the UK garage music scene. His (largely self-composed) music is a blend of garage MCing, conventional rap, grime and ragga, with extremely eclectic samples and more exotic styles.

Maths and English is the third studio album by British rapper and Grime artist Dizzee Rascal. The album is due for a release on June 4, 2007. The lead single is “Sirens” which will see its release on May 21, 2007.

Another confirmed single, ‘Wanna Be’ will feature guest vocals from English pop singer Lily Allen. Joss Stone was expected to feature on the song ‘Da Feelin’ but Dizzee Rascal stated that the song sounded too “poppy” with Joss Stone’s hook so she will not appear on the album.

Dizzee has pre-released three songs from the album thusfar: “Sirens,” “Hard Back (Industry),” and a live version of “Excuse Me Please.” All three songs are available on his myspace page. The full album leaked onto the internet as of May 31.

I listened/ watched some of his songs after doing a you tube search to find out more about this artist. I’m going to pass on this. I could barely understand a word he says. To me, his songs last for 10 seconds before it becomes annoying then I click onto something else.

Couldn’t give a flying fuck what colour he is, but sounds like a pretentious wanker. So Lily Allen’s sound isn’t pop, but Joss Stone’s is? If you compare the two, Joss Stone has worked with a lot more diversified artists in the Jazz/Soul field, whereas Silly Allen has churned out pure pop fanny-batter since day dot!

this is a wiked album, and whoever says its shit dont listen to it properly, with all that american bullshit out there no one pays attention to real talent. and whoever liked it should check out Wiley - Playtime Is Over another great album

  40. mitipi1
    June 8th, 2007 | 05:19

Gave it a quick listen. Sounds a little too pop compared to his previous 2 albums. Wiley’s album is much better choice if you’re into the more hardcore grime stuff. Either that or Roll Deep’s Rules and Regulations.
