DivX Create Bundle v6.4.1.26 Incl KeyMaker-DVT

Popular team DVT, who releases 0day appz and new iSO’s, released a new version of the DivX codec. This bundle version includes many more applications for creating movies and encoding video into the DivX format than a normal codec. The scene uses almost only XviD for new releases though, so this may be useful to compare the video quality between these two mainstream codecs. The main reason for using XviD is its price – it’s a freeware, while DivX remains a paid-for application.

DivX for Windows includes the DivX Codec, the DivX Player, the DivX Web Player and the Stage6 Content Uploader Utility. The DivX Player plays all AVI and .divx files that contain DivX video and MP3 audio including rented and purchased DivX content. The DivX Codec extends DivX playback support to all popular media players. This package supports English, French, German and Japanese languages.

The DivX Player is optimized to play every DivX file with full support for all of the advanced features of DivX including scene selection menus, chapters, subtitles, video tags, and alternate audio tracks. The latest version of the DivX Player adds a download manager that allows you to download multiple videos, pause and resume downloads, and progressively play back video, and a new burn-to-disc feature for creating DivX discs from within the player. Version 6.4 may include unspecified updates, enhancements, or bug fixes.

Also included in DivX Create is DivX Pro, an advanced digital video codec (coder/decoder) that plugs into popular video software applications. When used in combination with your existing video software, DivX Pro allows you to create and play high-quality DivX videos and provides playback support for interactive video menus, subtitles, alternate audio tracks and more. DivX technology can compress digital videos 5 to 10 times more than the MPEG-2/DVD format and hundreds of times over raw digital video.

It should be noted that divx 6.4.x also supports encoding High Definition Media at 720p, playable via the 6.4.x codec on your pc.

I am not sure of the implications of this as far as HDCP goes, but imagine re-encoding a HD/ Blueray DVD to divx and watching it on your tv via your PC.

Does xvid support HD encoding yet and has anyone tried sncodinghigh definition media? (these are honest questions so no need to flame me)
