District 9 R5 LiNE XviD 1000th RLS-DEViSE

Here we go! Big thanks to P2Per DEViSE on his 1000th release for syncing the Russian video with some English audio and what a 1000th release it is ;) We have had some pretty good movie releases over the last week or so and this has to be the best of them all :D I saw this film in the cinema last week and i absolutely loved it, probably one of the best Sci-Fi films i have seen in years and definitely deserves the reviews it has received so far IMO. Video quality as always from a R5 is very nice, audio isnt too bad but not the best we have seen on from previous R5s, check out the sample and judge for yourself.

Update: Scene release of the R5 for District 9 has just been released aswell. District.9.R5.LiNE.XviD-KAMERA ( Torrent | NFO | Sample | Storage.to CD1Storage.to CD2 ). This has already been nuked now for using cbr audio.

Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth. Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology. Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa’s District 9 as the world’s nations argued over what to do with them.

Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been contracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens’ welfare — they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens’ awesome weaponry work. So far, they have failed; activation of the weaponry requires alien DNA. The tension between the aliens and the humans comes to a head.

That's it for me – after this movie I've decided I've got better things to do with my life then sit through this sort of vulgar, pointless, violent rubbish in that name of science fiction – NO MORE – going to hike, play my music and never darken the door of an american movie theater again as they have nothing positive and good to offer me (and to think they want 8.50 go get in and $6.50 for a box of popcorn to boot – will spend that on my dogs from now on – they deserve the attention the movie industry SURE DOES NOT)

    No. 208 "puncture"
Hard coding subtitles for DVD use is a complete waste of time as most transcoding/authoring software can import simple .SRT files and add them where you want them. Equally if you use the zoom facility on your DVD player you will not loose the subtitles.

Free software to produce a compliant DVD with up to 3 subtitle options, a simple menu and flicker free 23.976 to 25 and 25 to 23.976 fps conversion is "AVI2DVD". Provided you read the instructions and the forum comments as well as follow the renaming and location of files requirements then a DVD file in 2 hours. AVI2DVD can be found at http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2Dvd.php?b2=1 and its free!

So which one has the best Audio and video? Kamera, Devise or Noir? Any input would be nice. Also, is there subs that work? Sounds like the ones provided don't work. If anyone has info on the best subs, then I would also appreciate it. Thanks to everyone for ur hard work. Bye. :-D :-)

#237. Thanks but I must be thick or something. I've extracted with Winrar and I have the Avi and .srt file in the same folder, but it doesn't work?
Please someone help (and yes I know I'm a doughnut so I don't need reminding)

So of the two replacement Sub files for the Devise release which of these is closer to what is said at 4.44.

    "A virus. A selective virus."
    "Release it near the Aliens"

    or

    "They are like a virus
    getting worst and worst"
    "And MNU put them
    in our neighborhood."

Both very different translations for the same lines.

Yep tried that. After second extraction (Avi file was created), I then moved the .srt from the first extraction into the same file as the Avi. Played the film, but the subs are not working.
    :(

is there a syncfix for devise, or does anyone know how many ms to delay or preload in virtualdub?

…I didn't really notice a sync issue, but everyone is saying there is, and I'd like to fix it for when other people watch it

No. 246 "ben" if you are using Windows Media Player try VideoLAN's VLC media player instead. You can also play with any sound or subtitle sync issues. http://www.videolan.org/

No. 252 "steve" the R5 tag used in this context is for mainly Russian use and is a rush TeleCine main feature only, to reduce pirated TeleCine discs, so the extra's that would be on a full DVD are not included. The true R5 region not only included Russia but Ukraine, Belarus, Continent of Africa (excluding South Africa, Swaziland, and Lesotho), Central and South Asia, Mongolia, North Korea.
This region is further subdivided by PAL 25(fps)or NTSC (23.976 or 29.97 fps) video standards and country language.
