I have 4 Windows XP SP2 machines running Diskeeper pro premier, and 2 Windows 2003 SP1 boxes running Diskeeper Enterprise Server and here’s what I have found so far on this release:

It seems about 60% of the keys the gen makes are already tapped out. Of my 4 xp machines, 2 of them worked the first time through, the other 2 I had to go through 5-10 keys to find a working one. Both the 2003 boxes seemed to work the first time through.

If you’re getting the “maximum limit has been reached” thing here’s how you try another license (not for the feint of heart):

Exit Diskeeper
Shut down the service again
In the Diskeeper folder delete the tab.dat and any volume{..}.dat files
In the registry go to HKLM\Software\Diskeeper Corporation\Licensing
You will see 3 keys, one that starts with “F1D”, another that starts with “2BB”, and a third that is based ont he license you’ve entered.
Delete the key that does *NOT* start with “2BB” or “F1D”. To verify you are deleting the right one go to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\diskeeper corporation\diskeeper\esmlog.log and find the serial number line at the bottom. (note that in vista this is located in c:\users\all users\diskeeper corporation\diskeeper)
Leave regedit open because you’ll need it in a second
Copy AGAIN’s tab.dat into the diskeeper folder
Restart the Diskeeper service
After the service is started go back to Regedit and you’ll see the key you deleted has been recreated, so delete it again.
Launch Diskeeper again and you can once again enter a license from the Action menu.

Like I said, it took me a half dozen tries to find a working key, so if you don’t have the patience for it you might be better off finding a different product that doesn’t have such a pain in the ass crack to it…

I HAVE FOLLOWED THEM WORD FOR WORD YOU JACKASS, and im still getting the same error as most of the people here “activation limit has been reached…”.

On my laptop, Vista Ultimate, the install and cracking process went without a hitch.
But when i tried installing it on my desktop computer, also Vista Ultimate, i got that error message.

I tried uninstalling with Your Uninstaller, then cleaning any traces of the app with CCleaner, restarting and doing the whole procedure over and over with no success.

PS: And yes, i disconnected from the net!
WTF! this is as frustrating as hell.

Someone, anyone… please help!

Well, this has been working for months now and today it wanted me to activate. I have reinstalled and cleaned the reg many times and cant get it to work. no matter what I do i cant get the “enter license key” option in the menu

Same as a couple of others, followed the instructins flawlessly about 6 times now and I get “activation limit has been reached…” error after pasting the activation and clicking to activate.

The keygen needs to keep open when you run the “diskeeper 2008″ application, otherwise the activation will fail. I’ve hit this problem before. And it’s now working perfectly.

smaugthewyrm is right, having exactly the same problem on XP SP2 with Pro Premier 12.0.781

Followed steps EXACTLY as described, but when time comes to activate manually, pasting the generated code into DK just gives an “Unable to activate – Activation failed. The activation limit has been reached for this licence. [...]“.

Lost too much time with this already. Too bad.
