Unzip, unrar and install. Press cancel when the expiring message pops up.
After install, stop diskeeper service (with Task Manager – DkService.exe) and copy files
from Patch.zip into installation directory (default is “C:\Program Files\Diskeeper Corporation\Diskeeper\”).
Run keymaker (under Vista, YOU HAVE to right click and run it as Administrator) and press Generate Key.
Start diskeeper service (XP USERS: Start – Run – Type in: Services.msc and press enter/OK. VISTA USERS: Start – Type in searchbox: Services.msc and run it.), press cancel when the
expiring message pops up, run application, in the menus (Action) you will find an option to enter license key, enter the previously generated key.
Then press Generate Code, copy code into application and restart.

i prefer perfect disk on win xp. but i dont understand why people need this on vista, defrag does now what it should have done on win xp, defrag the hard disk on idle time, do it fast, and with good results. with sp1 they also added the drive selection (why wasnt it there in teh first place nobody knows). only thing i miss is a nice graphical representation of the process, always makes people feel good afterwards.

Works fine…you have to follow the instructions exactly as they are written in the NFO then it will work.

actualy they dont explain in detail what you have to do in nfo… you have to find the activation box in the programme itself… file etc.

Yeah, skip Diskeeper. Too many hurdles for an ultimately average defrag tool.
Go for O&O Defrag for some decent defrag software, and Defraggler for individual freeware file defragmentation. From the people who brought you CCleaner!

Thanks a lot to everyone for the help – it is working now. I was following the steps in the nfo, which didn’t really help and weren’t detailed enough. I then looked again at the little guide from rlslog and followed all the instructions and it is working now!

Works fine under WinXP. Maybe they’ll issue a new KeyGen? Probably not.
I follow the instruction step by step, when i paste the code made with the keys, it accepts the key, but when i press ok now says, you need to activate the product.

Make sure you stopped DKService.exe before copying the patched dlls.
Well, this ain’t work.
I already did the procedure like 4 times, i already activate the software, and when restarts pop up the activation windows again.
What a waste of time
this edition does not work with vista 64 the pro premier will but after copying the cracked dll’s the service will not restart the keygen also says prog needs installed and obviously i have it installed if i stopped the service, waste of time.
And still no one says where to “copy code into application”. What and where do I do this? Please share with me as I am a noob
Needless app and crack procedure for doing just a good defrag job, for all those people running on 64bit and wanting a free and good defragger that comes as a screensaver also, try the trusty JkDefrag at http://www.kessels.com/JkDefrag/ , you wont need anything else.
I don’t know about this defragger.. I am using it now instead of perfectdisk and when it does it defragging without asking me my harddrive makes loud screaming defragging noises and it goes on for what seems like hours, its very annoying. It keeps my hd defragged but at the cost of huge sounds.

when i restarted the diskeeper service after copying the patch files , it says, “Product key: not needed Licensed to: AGAiN” in Diskeeper configuratin properties i.e Action->Configure Diskeeper -> Diskeeper configuratin properties. Also there is no option in the action menu ” Activate Diskeeper ” So i guess its working
I’ve installed this program minutes ago and worked fully. Thanks to AGAiN. I installed this twice because my first install was not *fully* licensed. I just want to add some steps in the installation.
After generating your licence key, don’t close the keygen!
Enter your licence key and after that your Diskeeper will still ask to activate automatically or manually. Select manually and click OK. Press generate code in the keygen to get a code. Copy that and click Paste in Diskeeper and fully activate it.
DEFRAGGING = An activity to make average users feel better.
It really isn’t necessary anymore with NTFS and if your drive is fragmented where it is causing significant performance issues its time to image/ghost and reformat the drive. Or replace it.

NTFS fragments but not so much as the old FAT32 system, even the most advanced filesystems on Linux fragment but they make an even better job at preventing fragmentation than NTFS.
You can’t be serious that a user will reinstall the OS or replace the drive due to fragmentation, are you? A single defrag job from the default defragger or an excellent opensource app like JkDefrag at http://www.kessels.com/JkDefrag/ will do the job just fine and bring back the perfomance to optimum levels.
Hi. I’ve installed this version in two PCs. The first one had no problems, it’s working ok. But the second one fails during activation. I’ve installed the patches after stopping dkservice.exe, but I cannot activate it. Everytime I uninstall and reinstall, I see the same activation string (maybe a trash of a previous installation), so I think that is the main reason for this failure. I cannot find that string anywhere (windows registry, etc.). Any ideas on how to remove COMPLETELY this software to try again? Any other idea? I’ve used your uninstaller 2008, but it was useless, same result. T.I.A.

How are you trying to start the service again? You’re supposed to go to start > run > ’services.msc’ ENTER, right click on Diskeeper and start.
mine also fails on activation. an error that this license has maxed out.

Followed steps EXACTLY as described, but when time comes to activate manually, pasting the generated code into DK just gives an “Unable to activate – Activation failed. The activation limit has been reached for this licence. [...]“.
Lost too much time with this already. Too bad.

The keygen needs to keep open when you run the “diskeeper 2008″ application, otherwise the activation will fail. I’ve hit this problem before. And it’s now working perfectly.
Same as a couple of others, followed the instructins flawlessly about 6 times now and I get “activation limit has been reached…” error after pasting the activation and clicking to activate.

Well, this has been working for months now and today it wanted me to activate. I have reinstalled and cleaned the reg many times and cant get it to work. no matter what I do i cant get the “enter license key” option in the menu
okay, got to the enter license key spot but then it told me the limit had been reached for that code. AHHHH i just want my diskeeper back!!

I HAVE FOLLOWED THEM WORD FOR WORD YOU JACKASS, and im still getting the same error as most of the people here “activation limit has been reached…”.
On my laptop, Vista Ultimate, the install and cracking process went without a hitch.
But when i tried installing it on my desktop computer, also Vista Ultimate, i got that error message.
I tried uninstalling with Your Uninstaller, then cleaning any traces of the app with CCleaner, restarting and doing the whole procedure over and over with no success.
PS: And yes, i disconnected from the net!

I have 4 Windows XP SP2 machines running Diskeeper pro premier, and 2 Windows 2003 SP1 boxes running Diskeeper Enterprise Server and here’s what I have found so far on this release:
It seems about 60% of the keys the gen makes are already tapped out. Of my 4 xp machines, 2 of them worked the first time through, the other 2 I had to go through 5-10 keys to find a working one. Both the 2003 boxes seemed to work the first time through.
If you’re getting the “maximum limit has been reached” thing here’s how you try another license (not for the feint of heart):
Exit Diskeeper
Shut down the service again
In the Diskeeper folder delete the tab.dat and any volume{..}.dat files
In the registry go to HKLM\Software\Diskeeper Corporation\Licensing
You will see 3 keys, one that starts with “F1D”, another that starts with “2BB”, and a third that is based ont he license you’ve entered.
Delete the key that does *NOT* start with “2BB” or “F1D”. To verify you are deleting the right one go to c:\documents and settings\all users\application data\diskeeper corporation\diskeeper\esmlog.log and find the serial number line at the bottom. (note that in vista this is located in c:\users\all users\diskeeper corporation\diskeeper)
Leave regedit open because you’ll need it in a second
Copy AGAIN’s tab.dat into the diskeeper folder
Restart the Diskeeper service
After the service is started go back to Regedit and you’ll see the key you deleted has been recreated, so delete it again.
Launch Diskeeper again and you can once again enter a license from the Action menu.
Like I said, it took me a half dozen tries to find a working key, so if you don’t have the patience for it you might be better off finding a different product that doesn’t have such a pain in the ass crack to it…
