Discovery Science Download The Real Story Of The Internet PDTV XviD-FTP

FTP released a very interesting documentary a little while ago which is about the technological, cultural, commercial and social revolution that has radically changed our lives. This looks like a great watch. Enjoy!

Looking back at the filesharing world with the biggest of them all the rise and fall “Napster” the online music filesharing webite that was in the end shut down by a court of law. Then moving on to the social networking known today as myspace and facebook. For the first time on television, we hear how it happened from the men and women who made it possible. From the founders of eBay, Yahoo, Amazon, Netscape, Google and many others, we hear amazing stories of how, in ten short years, the Internet took over our lives.

I hope a significant portion of this documentary covers idiots who use the internet to generally bring down the average human intelligence (example: post #1, above). Fool.

Is this the same as, “The True Story Of The Internet” four part series? Sounds like the same show.

  11. Why?
    September 4th, 2008 | 02:50

Sad to see that RLSLOG is going downhill so much :( ((

This and that Kill Bill release was already posted on zero sec ages ago :( (

    September 4th, 2008 | 02:54

@12 What’s the rush? Can you see all the releases at the same time they pre? I don’t think soo. Sometimes rlslog is quicker, sometimes not. So what?

  13. Why?
    September 4th, 2008 | 02:58

actually I’ve been comparing rlslog and zero sec since they went up and rlslog hasn’t been faster a single time :( (

    September 4th, 2008 | 03:24

    @14
actually i don’t care wich one is faster but ACTUALLY there was at least one time that rlslog was faster and you can see there coz i posted something about that ;)

  16. September 4th, 2008 | 03:28

Who cares who is faster? Go there if they are faster. I have a life outside of this site, this isn’t my income, hell there isn’t any income for me. So my family and job come first. I could care less if 0sec is faster, good for them. I am not doing this to be the fastest.

I don’t care about the pointless fights between sites, I just wish they’d both actually have some links before making the posts in the first place. ENOUGH with the torrent search routine. Both sites are sucking pretty hard right now.

300 baud FTW, word processors, tunneling into the library to access ircthrow in a beige, grey, red, brown or black and maybe a pbx’r… then you’ll achieve a bit more credibility

  20. September 4th, 2008 | 04:27

Okay #18, you want us to wait until there is a torrent out to post a release? Yet every other person complains about us being too slow. Wow, you are the on complete opposite side of the fence. lol

Hey Vegan, I just think you guys are losing the plot here. The idea is that you make it easier for users to find the goods. Sorry for expecting you to actually post an actual download. Thankfully, every post has big photos and long writeups!

And yeah, this Internet show is old and has 4 parts. It’s out there and I passed on it after reading more reviews.

@26 I think your not remembering it correctly. There is a documentary about BBSes but it wasn’t done by the Discovery channel. You can get the whole thing for free under the Creative Commons license and you can download all the source footage and re-cut your own version as well under the Creative Commons license. I did enjoy this trip down memory lane that this documentary did. Considering I was there for all of it.

You can download all of it also from Internet Archive

“The True Story of the Internet” is about the internet revolution of the last 10 years. The founders of eBay, Google, Yahoo, Amazon, Netscape and many others tell the personal stories of how they made their untold billions in this short time period. The style of the story-telling is up close and personal. With first-hand testimony from the people that matter, we tell a story that has all the excitement of a thriller — full of battles and back-stabbing, moments of genius and moments of sheer hilarity. You will never surf the net in the same way again.
