Directory Opus v9.1.3.0-DOA

If you need advanced file manager than usual windows one, you should check this Directory Opus.

Description: A file manager is, at its simplest, a utility program which presents lists of files and allows the user to perform actions of some kind on those files. File managers are useful for moving files between folders, making backup copies of files, viewing pictures and playing sounds, running other utility programs on lists of files, deleting unwanted files and many other “housekeeping” tasks.

Directory Opus goes beyond the simple file manager metaphor, and offers you a complete replacement for Windows Explorer and many other utility programs for handling FTP, ZIP, viewing files and images, running slideshows and more. It provides you with all this within a user-friendly and fully-configurable environment within which you can access and manage your important data with a minimum of effort. Harness the power of your computer like never before!

    This works, nfo taken from version 9.1.1.8:

    Please ensure you block the following ips. Add them in the hosts file!!!
    Usually in c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc
    And block dopus64.exe, dopus.exe from accessing the internet in your firewall.

    127.0.0.1 gpsoft.com.au
    127.0.0.1 http://www.gpsoft.com
    127.0.0.1 http://www.gpsoft.com.au
    127.0.0.1 203.34.202.11
    127.0.0.1 67.228.213.247
    127.0.0.1 206.204.54.103
    127.0.0.1 216.12.144.16

    You can block the exe-files under Windows Firewall "outbound rules".

    Is this the 64bit version or the 32bit? If not, where can I get the 64bit version?

    Great! Now.. how about a 64bit version?
    I see no crack inside, hope directing gpsoft's IPs to 127.0.0.1 in the hosts file will be sufficent, DOpus loves to connect to them and kill the licence.:)

    @Player_1:
    "And block dopus64.exe, dopus.exe from accessing the internet in your firewall."
    How exactly do You use the FTPs then? The hosts file manouver should be sufficent, and it won't cripple the program.

    @Crus:
    Well, I don't use the FTP so it's ok for me. But You MIGHT be right about the IP:s being enough. The thing is that You don't get a second chance if it doesn't work. DOpus wont work if the first installation is messed up somehow. Perhaps it manages to add some secret registry entry.

    The best file manager in the history of file managers. Great Aussie program.

    Huh, I dont think I have EVER seen this program properly cracked before. Im sure the 32 bit version would work fine on x64 OS's, though I really havent been able to try this in the past. If it is like XYexplorer, it shouldnt matter. If it is integrated into Windows, yeah that might be a problem…

    Ok, scratch that. This wont install on x64 comps…

    you can use the cracked 32bit exe file and dopuslib.dll to get a screwed 64bit install working. its not proper 64bit, but you can still use the program on a blacklisted 64bit system. crack/keygen by FFF a long while ago.

    also you can make a portable version in a virtual machine and use that on your blacklisted system. its still not as nice as having it properly installed, but oh well …

    Ahh, good old DOpus.

    I actually caved and paid up for this. It's one of the relatively few apps are are well worth the money.

    I am using 9.1.8 with Windows 7 and have no problem. Change your host file and then make sure twice (after reboot with no internet connection) that "check for updates" is turn off, and you should be fine.

    Excellent program.

    Just don't start DOpus with Windows and you won't have to worry about the check for updates. Annoying but saves the license from being blacklisted because Dopus decides you need to update.

    The license certificate included in this release works fine with the x64 version too. Just download the x64 version from GPS's website and use this certificate to register it.

    Remember to block Opus's access to the internet BEFORE you register it. You can use a firewall for this, including Windoze' own firewall if you're using Vista or 7. If the certificate gets rejected as invalid, then you've missed or screwed up this step. Do some (more) homework on google and try again.

    I just used this cert to register version 9.1.3.0.3449.x64, which I got directly from hxxp://gpsoft.com.au/ about an hour ago. Worked like a charm – even despite the warning during setup saying that Opus doesn't officially support Windows 7 yet. In this version you're allowed to continue setup despite this, where in previous versions setup was canceled at that point. I haven't found any features yet that don't work properly under 7, save for ftp functionality which is blocked by the firewall. You can even get around this by using IP based filtering instead of program based filtering in your blocking mechanism – or you could just get filezilla or one of many fine ftp clients that are out there.

    @Zaph0d: Thanks for the info!!;)
    Alas, i've already blocked gpsoft.com.au in my hosts file, i'm kinda afraid, that unbinding it from 127.0.0.1 will blacklist my current Opus. Too much of a hassle maybe.;)

    When it comes to the limited functionality/Win7 support, well, i have
    Win7, and full Explorer replacement is a BAD idea, You won't be able to customize the tray for example, as the customization window is using explorer. With explorer replacement turned ON, the window just won't show up. Many other options will not work either, perhaps even the display properties.. ;)

    Once key has been blacklisted how do you unblacklist it to do another install with IPs blocked in hosts file?

    Is that even possible, or is serial blacklisted deep inside registry?
