Diary of the Dead 2007 CAM XViD-TRG

Here is a film that a lot of people have been looking forward to. It is a major horror release by one of the definite masters of horror: George A. Romero. Most of you will probably know him as the director and writer of the 1985 zombie classic “Day of the Dead”, but now he’s back with another “…of the dead” film. It will be interesting to see what he’s done this time around. This film was shot to look like an amateur documentary film, but was shot before Cloverfield which has been hugely successful. This is a CAM, so personally I’ll be waiting for a better version, but if you’re desperate for a zombie fix, this should satisfy your needs.

Quality: Generally very poor quality, but for being a CAM, the quality looks above average. Video has low saturation and audio is unclear. If you’ve enjoyed CAMs in the past, this one shouldn’t be a problem for you. Enjoy.

Legendary director George A. Romero proves that his career isn’t one foot in the grave with this fifth entry in his zombie series. For DIARY OF THE DEAD, Romero goes back to the indie roots of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD as he focuses on a young team of filmmakers as they try to fend off zombie attacks.

What are you talking about? The quality of this film is great. Better than the CAM quality movies released in mexico anyways… It is perfectly watchable, the audio is not too bad either. if you cannot hear the audio then turn up the SOUND!!! Duh… Unless you are a movie collector then this movie is perfectly watchable, i probably already mentioned that…but thats my point! Download this!! NOW!!

This movie is incredible, written and directed by the God of Zombies, George A Romero. Done without a big movie studio behind it so it couldn’t get screwed with like Land of the Dead. Top notch.

“Most of you will probably know him as the director and writer of the 1985 zombie classic “Day of the Dead”. What kind of rubbish is this to write. We know Romero from Night of the Living Dead and Dawn Of the Dead. The two best zombie movies ever made.

Wow, a camera copy of a camera-cammed movie! :D I saw this the Friday after it was released last month (Feb. 22), the night before I went back to NB to visit family (I thought it was released that night :P), and it was pretty sweet. No, this has nothing to do with the other Romero series (other than zombies! haha); but this is Romero’s first INDEPENDENT film in years… The movie was pretty slick, but there wasn’t much zombi action in the movie. They filmed zombies all around and such, but not as many bullets and rockets flying, but it was an awesome movie nonetheless :) The BEST part was at the barn… You all know what I’m talking about if you’ve seen it! Romero added that scene in after everything was done, because he wanted to film something else! Soo funny man! Thanks rlslog, I can’t wait for the R5 or dvdrip :D

    romero “was” a genius.
he was a genius at the time that he realized the trilogy (’night of the living dead’, ‘dawn of the dead’ and ‘day of the dead’). after that movies he makes only s*it.

As a huge Romero fan, I’ll have to buy this when it’s released anyway, but I was far from blown away by it at the cinema. The normally well-integrated social commentary is too in-your-face in this. Real shame.

  45. Scottie Pimpin
    April 1st, 2008 | 14:22

I’m a fan of Romero films as well. He’s the Michael Jordan of Zombie movies…and with that being said he should have RETIRED after the first three..Now his legacy is tarnished with this..

It was alright..Like dude said it was more of a social commentary than anything else with zombies thrown in to make it a lil exciting..I just thought running around with a camera during a zombie attack was kinda stupid. The ‘Point Of View’ technique has been done far too many times…It was very hard to suspend my belief.

…and I can’t believe a sequel to this movie has already been announced!!

Overall it’s better than Zombie Diaries but not better than [Rec]…which I recommend to everybody here.

Romero isn’t a master of horror, he’s a master of creating the same movie over and over and over again trying to bash this “clever satire on modern society” into our heads.

  53. RitchieB
    April 1st, 2008 | 19:19

Dude, great zombie movies were never about making the viewer jump, they are about documenting the plight of the characters as they face seemingly insurmountable odds in their battle for survival, and the interplay between them as individuals.

As for me being an idiot simply because I choose to disagree with you, why don’t you come back when you can carry your argument a little further, eh…

  54. monade

Please know, what you are talking about. I keep returning to this site - and finding the crew witout any clue about the movies. Maybe they are too young, and actually, I do not care anymore. Romero made the modern horror sparkle - and this can’t be questioned. This particular release, Diary Of the Dead, is for me his 3. best in the Dead-series, just after Dawn, but before Day. Keep the comments on a basic, objective level - and the Releaselog-crew needs to have an education in movie history. Thank you.

  55. Apo Logize
    April 1st, 2008 | 21:07

Monade, you’re right. Right after “Dawn of the Dead” and “Night of the Living Dead”, this one is Romero’s best “Movie of the Dead”. ;)

It’s definitely better than “Land of the Dead” (the high budget didn’t make it a good movie at all), and yes, for me it’s even better than “Day of the Dead”.

It seems that going independent again gave him more creative control over the movie.

I hope we’ll see more “Dead”-movies made by the maestro himself - although I don’t think the story of “Diamond of the Dead” sounds very promising.

“Keep the comments on a basic, objective level”

Objective? Film is a subjective media! Not all of us are uneducated dude… ;D

My personal order of appreciation is more or less chronological, Night, Dawn, Day and Diary/Land joint last. The concept of Diary was far better than Land, I just left the execution was lacking subtlety and polish.

It seems like two of my favourite directors, Romero and Carpenter, who literally created sub-genres in their heyday, are becoming to hackneyed for new audiences to take them seriously. Carpenter was more obvious due to the releases during the 90’s. Escape from LA compared to Escape from NY? No contest! :D

    @monade
I never realized it was supposed to be the prequel of Night… But when you think about it, you’re right, because only this one and Night of the Living Dead had the zombies first start showing up… FOr all we know it could even be set at the same time Night happened… My bad! :P And the movie wasn’t disappointing… But it lacked a bit more zombie-killings! But it was different and unique, which captivated me… I’m still waiting for a movie to come out like Doom, only full ‘first person’ killing sprees with zombies! lol It’d be different.

And @7, nope, it is not Johnny Knoxville :S I think that’s the intro, where the news crew is freaking out because dead people got up from their stretchers haha That part was kinda funny

Every sense of mission like a fantasy novel, particularly attractive. with age of conan gold you will be out from the edge of life and death.
