Details about Marine One leaked on P2P
The engineering, financial specs, and communications information used on Marine One, President Obama’s helicopter, were leaked over a P2P network to a system in Iran, according to reports. The leak was traced back to a defense contractor in Bethesda, Md. The information was discovered by Tiversa, a company that provides P2P monitoring and protection services to governments, corporations, and even individuals. The company says its technology can monitor over 450 million users issuing 1.5 billion searches a day. While doing routine work in 2008, Tiversa discovered the information and alerted the defense contractor. Bob Boback, CEO of Tiversa, has said in various interviews that the file with the Marine One details was discovered on the Gnutella network. It is very likely, Tiversa stated, that the contractor didn’t even know it was handing out this type of information.
According to Boback’s interview with WPXI in Pittsburgh, Iran isn’t the only country that is sniffing P2P networks looking for information. “We’ve noticed it out of Pakistan, Yemen, Qatar, and China. They are actively searching for information that is disclosed in this fashion because it is a great source of intelligence.” Trolling P2P sites is nothing new, criminals do this all the time. The problem is not that the specs for Marine One were discovered on a P2P network, nor is it that they are in the hands of someone in Iran. The problem is that a United States defense contractor failed to monitor what was installed on their systems. Contractors, government or not, spend millions on network security. They have to, because with the business they are in, secrets must be kept. How is it a defense contractor managed to let a P2P client get past they layers of security and traffic monitoring that are supposed to exist?

Can I have a look see in that info?
Where can I download the blueprints please? Its for personal reasons…
They hire expensive idiots… doest not trust real geniueses because generally they departed schools early. That's the reason.
Well orchestrated… and makes nice anti-P2P propaganda!

@5 Good point! +1
Why the f**k do you want to see that crap info anyway, you bored masterbating your hamster?
Yeh right, just days after they announced Obama don't want to spend money renewing White House Helicopters!
They really think people are idiots!
someone should tell that contractor about PeerGuardian
marine 2 not 1
Why is this news? I have to agree with another comment here that it seems more of an attempt to brand anything that has to do with p2p or torrents in a negative or criminal light.
I could give a crap if someone threatens to nuke the USA or whatever it's not going to make me change my routine. Today or tomorrow I could easily get hit by a car or some force of nature can take me out or hell some idiot employee at a fast food joint gives me something with infected peanuts in it.
They need to focus on getting the economy back on track and creating more jobs because the only thing I am insecure about is my freaking job that I have been doing for ten years.
Guess what Bush would have done. Every P2P-user would have been declared an "Enemy Combatant" and send of to Gitmo.
This is the same people who told us that Saddam had WMD, links to terrorists although the only terrorist traing camp in Iraq was in Kurdistan that had US no-fly zone protection, aquiring Uranium from Niger, help aid militants in Sudan and had the capability to restart a nuclear weapons program.
So now they wan't to go to war against Iran and were hearing black info prpaganda against Iran.
lol its on youtube roll

@1 DAMN YOU HASSAANNN, you give me virus. I come explode your cave wit my friend!!
Let me guess… in a few weeks media will announce that some Iranian terrorists has been shooting missiles after it and caught on tape (which will not be released to the public due to national security), and later to be known that claimed involved people where seen in a different country at the time of the incident.

Strange that this is news soon after Obama nixes the plan to replace the thing in the first place. Intentional leak to make a buck?
Hey, dsadas, it is actually Marine One. The President's helicopter is Marine One, the V.P.'s is Marine Two. Just a little correction.
I've just built two of these =D
looks like three birds with one stone: p2p, IRAN "as next in line to attack country…" and to show how they can find anything on the internet…
stupid, stupid us
Old news about a helicopter thats the best part of 40 years old, no new tecnology on show here and anyway its about to be replaced due to an aging airframe by the VH-71 Kestral.
Oh noes Iran, has enough material to build a nuclear bomb! Oh noes, Iran has communication channels and specs for Marine One! Oh noes, it's the end of the world!
How much warmongering must we endure? It started under Bush, and continues with Obama! Two sides of the same coin.
Revolution Now!
WoW !
Proud to be IRANIAN …
@12 Marine One is simply a call sign for which ever helo the president is on,no matter what helo, the fleet dedicated for this purpose is pimped out VH-60N's and the VH-3D's,when bush jr was flying around Mississippi during katrina for photo ops in a coast guard helo, that helo was call signed Marine One, just like Air Force one is a call sign for which ever fixed winged aircraft the president is on.
the replacement of the helo fleet has nothing to do with how old the airframe is– the A-10 is 30 plus years old, but there is nothing to this day a modern tank fears most than an A-10 — it has all to do with the air frame limitations to new incompatible countermeasures to proliferated Russian and Chinese anti-aircraft rockets in the hands of s@nd-n!gg@rs through the black market. because of this and other brand new threats such as partially indirect nuclear proofin and direct bio proofin. The fleet will be replaced every 15 years or so, to match and anticipate future threats.
Building and developing a state of the art aircraft costs lots of time/money, thats why countries by Russian and American fighter jets for example. Look at how some countries that invested in the F35 are crying about cost, most notably Australia.
Democrat, former Supreme Allied Commander General Clark heads the company that intentionally leaked info about the VH-60N to help the public buy in to this project, like all other projects before faces unforeseen problems that need to be perfected, that again costs money/time– again, why countries buy proven Russian/American tech — instead of simply explaining why its need they fabricate this story to the public.
SO MUCH FOR CHANGE,
