Depeche Mode-Construction Time Again Remastered

Everyone knows Depeche Mode, they are really popular nowadays. But this music band has also a long history and some albums, which aren’t that well-known. Construction Time Again released back in 1983 is probably one of them. It was Depeche Mode’s first full album with Alan Wilder added to the lineup – and you can download it now in new, remastered version with better audio quality.

Hugely influential and hailed by Q magazine as “the most popular electronic band the world has ever known”, Depeche Mode and Mute announce the latest instalment of the highly acclaimed remastered and repackaged series, collectors item, complete with brand new individual documentaries and incredibly rare footage.

Each deluxe double-disc collector’s edition contains the re-mastered stereo album, the new surround mix, all the B-sides from the singles and a brand new documentary film featuring new interviews with band members past and present, chronicling that period of the Depeche Mode’s hugely influential year career. The redesigned 16-page booklet includes original LP art, new photos, lyrics, and sleeve notes by Daniel Miller.

I’m afraid Martin, that the following section of your post is 95% bollocks:

“Each deluxe double-disc collector’s edition contains the re-mastered stereo album, the new surround mix, all the B-sides from the singles and a brand new documentary film featuring new interviews with band members past and present, chronicling that period of the Depeche Mode’s hugely influential year career. The redesigned 16-page booklet includes original LP art, new photos, lyrics, and sleeve notes by Daniel Miller.”

This release is the “re-mastered stereo album” part only, the remainder of the paragraph relates to the DVD edition.
I know this because I have recently downloaded the ‘Speak And Spell’, ‘A Broken Frame’, ‘Some Great Reward’ and ‘Music For The Masses’ DVD editions, which generally are 7.2Gb or so in size!

OxX its not a new album. Read the blog properly. It was new in 1983…

Quote: “I dont like this new album!”

doh!.. read the post! – it’s not actually a new album.

All the same, it’s still a great album for it’s time.

If I had to choose my favourites from the earlier albums with Alan Wilder I’d go with “Black Celebration” and “Music For The Masses” as the best then “Violator” a close 3rd. But to really experience Depeche Mode at their best will all the earlier classics you’ll be wanting to check the 101 album – or video, absolute masterpiece, I only wish I could have been there at the Rosebowl in Pasadena!
