A highly-expected new series premiered on UK’s iTV today. This six-part supernatural drama “Demons” follows the adventures of London teenager Luke Rutherford who learns that he is the last descendant of the Van Helsing line by the sudden arrival of his American godfather Rupert Galvin. Luke is charged with the role of smiting the gathering dark forces of the world whilst trying to live an ordinary life of exams and parties. Don’t know if there is gonna be a HDTV Rip, but here is the PDTVRip released by ORGANiC, enjoy!

EP 1.1 They Bite

Luke Rutherford is your average teenage boy – until his dead father’s best friend, Rupert Galvin, enters his life. Galvin has come to tell Luke his secret destiny: he’s the real-life great-grandson of the legendary Abraham Van Helsing, the vampire hunter in Bram Stoker’s Dracula. Luke is set to inherit the family mantle as a warrior against the supernatural entities swarming the earth. But Luke isn’t the only one to have recently discovered his true identity. The powerful half-life, Gladiolus Thrip (Mackenzie Crook), has too.

    @1: when it comes to making TV, yes the UK does suck balls 95% of the time. this is one of those times, When Mckenzie Crook appears with a fake nose I was wondering whether this was supposed to be a proper sci-fi drama because it was more like a surreal comedy. This show will probably be on most people "worst shows of 2009" lists.

    "Buffy (with a d!ck & no boobs) ;) "

    They even include a foreign Watcher. Guess Anthony Head was too busy filming Merlin.

    And Rupert Galvin in no way sounds like Rupert Giles.

    I love how the Americans come slaggin our british TV shows off when most drivel on american TV has been made by us brits before you yanks did it.
    I'm sure even big shows like Lost, 24 & Heroes were done by us brits with a cheaper budget fair enough but the talent for writing and acting was there to keep us entertained in the 70's/80's when we had these ideas.

    It's definitely b-grade, but it's not all that bad. If you can stomach watching the horrific amateurish disaster that is Merlin, then this is more than watchable. Demons is a bit better than Merlin.

    One of the most aggravating elements in Demons is Philip Glenister's jarring American accent. Jesus Christ. Would it have been so difficult to script him as a Brit?

    The credits trailer for the next episode looks interesting.

    @31:
    You need to get your facts straight before piping up – those are Mythologies, all great cultures have them. Nothing to do with history, which we have plenty and don't need to romanticize because it is full of everything you need to make a good blockbuster movie (just take a slice of any period in British history and the US has made a movie about it). Sorry, does modern America miss out? Ohh, how sad for you, no history and no culture at all.

    So whilst this show might not have all the SFX that a US production throws in to cloud a weak (or lack of) story, talentless acting, and generally a dumbing down of an audience (heroes, 24, Prison Break, Sanctuary) this show can at least claim it returns to the roots of acting by going beyond the CGI and focuses on the things that made actors great back in the days when acting was hard work and demanded talent rather than a big demented ego. I suggest any of you moaners visit a theater for a change and get a taste of what the job is suppose to be like.

    There are plenty of Brit shows even in recent years that have been shown successfully in the US or even been badly copied by American Networks – not 95% of Brit TV is rubbish: 95% of viewers have no appreciation anymore and lost their use of imagination!

    Really? How many of us have you met? I presume you have travelled to the UK and taken some time to visit the locals and found out about their culture and so on before you came to this decision.

    Or have you in fact never left your own country and have come across a few people from the UK online in chat rooms, forums etc.?
