There has been a P2P release of this new up and coming RPG/Startegy for about 2 days now and now here is the scene release for AVENGED. Demigod is described as an action/RPG/RTS hybrid. The game gives the player the ability to choose certain heroes that rely on either their own power as a single unit or the power of creating multiple units.

Demigod is a team-based action game with RTS and RPG elements. Players take control of a massive Demigod with the goal of annihilating their opponent’s position in a given arena while preventing the opponent’s Demigod from doing the same to them. Although the game supports superb one-on-one duels, the title will truly shine in team play either with other human-controlled Demigods or with ones controlled by a sophisticated computer AI. As the game progresses, the player’s Demigod will acquire items, attributes and experience.

  • Strategy / RPG hybrid – Revolutionary and innovative strategy / RPG hybrid combines the character building of a role-playing game with the epic battles of a real-time strategy game
  • Addictive and replayable single player and multiplayer – Battle your way into the pantheon of the gods in a persistent single-player or multiplayer universe
  • Dozen unique demigods – Choose from nearly a dozen unique demigods each with their own special skills, powers and capabilities. Watch your demigod grow in power as they gain experience, level up, and brush aside hordes of enemy minions
  • Stunning graphics – Wage massive, earth-shattering battles across a series of awe-inspiring arenas

This game was based on DotA. Sure DotA has ~x12 more heroes, but this IS AN ENTIRE GAME. Not a map/mod of a game. The graphics looks decent, the whole rts/prg hybrid is very interesting, plus the background/story is very nice.

This is one to buy. The CEO of Gas Powered Games has been sitting there in IRC with customers for the last 40 hours troubleshooting issues. Any small company that cares that much about their customers, and deliberately doesn't put copyright protection software into their games deserves my money.

this is purely a multiplayer team game so saying it sucks when u played it by yourself is like saying a car sucks cause u went and drove it without the wheels on…

    April 14th, 2009 | 23:58

agreed with the above posts. No point in pirating this unless you are trying before you buy. no single player campaign stuff, and I suppose you can try to rig it to play against AI, but it isnt as fun vs players.

This is strictly a multiplayer type of game.

Can someone answer if this game is able to play multiplayer without a key? Or is it a must buy?

  46. Pedro
    April 15th, 2009 | 01:09

Bah browsing forums you need an Impulse account and serial key to login for multiplay.

Anyone got it installed wanna confirm if you can get LAN play without loging into anything?

  47. Pedro
    April 15th, 2009 | 01:36

    Found this in Gamespot forum

"I was able to just click on Multiplayer and open up a LAN game straight away without having to go through updating it."

"You need to input your CD key into Impulse and download the update in order to play LAN.

You do have a CD key, don't you?"

First guy sounded like he had actually done it, whereas second guy sounded like he was talking out his asspipe.

    April 15th, 2009 | 14:36

If you cannot run the game or have issues with it:
    Turn off Comodo firewall
Turn off logitech webcam program (and update the software btw)

If it will not start at all try double clicking the shortcut over and over again, i know it sounds silly but it will eventually start up.

    Hope this helps someone :-)

@76, there is no LAN option on the Avenged release. There was a 0-day patch that enabled it, but is not included with the release.

To all of you with working LAN, did you get the Multi release instead?

  56. kiki
    April 15th, 2009 | 17:04

@79, The LAN option is in the Multi release yes, Not Avenged

  57. Sux Not
    April 15th, 2009 | 18:58

Thanx to "Tips"…Commodo was the Problem.
The game is really nice, but Performance is quite hard in single play. Have a Quad Core and after 10 minutes it slows down drastically.
Anyone else got some performance reports?

  58. Somedude

Anyone got the patch to play on LAN?

  59. laws
    April 15th, 2009 | 23:30

comodo firewall itself inst the problem. It is the Defense+ component that prevents the game from working right. Disabling just that is far safer than just completely turning off the firewall.

    April 16th, 2009 | 04:09

This game suck the unwashed underwear for singleplayer I don't even know why they included singleplayer mode at all. And they hyped it up for over s year as if it was going to be a real RPG/RTS… What a waste.

@82, For LAN, download the radiance release instead of waiting for a patch. Since the radiance release is just game files, you can copy right over your install without losing any save-game & profile data.

Game is way cool. just like they said all along this is what they been promsing well they have delivered. Great gameplay great graphics and replayability without too much worry.

    April 16th, 2009 | 14:59

wait so @1ns0mn14, do the files you posted update the game to the latest patch version for online play, or is it a lan only fix?

  69. 1ns0mn14
    April 16th, 2009 | 18:10

It's the updated files, made through comparison of the AVENGED and RADiANCE releases. I didn't check if there were any changes in the (big) texture files, can do a check now to see if something else has changed, but I highly doubt it. What I know is the game runs fine without any crashes, the LAN option is available, and the version displayed is the new one.

If you're afraid it might mess things up just make a backup copy of the two folders and the zip file.. they're all small.

  70. gflare
    April 16th, 2009 | 18:13

@94, you need a CD key attached to your impulse account to play online.

1ns0mn14's files will allow you to choose LAN from the multi-player menu though, so you can play via Hamachi.

    DOTA's graphics are lame.
At least, Demigod doesn't look like it was made in the 90's.

  76. 1ns0mn14
    April 21st, 2009 | 21:01

I did a full check with WinMerge and it confirmed that all files that are different in the RADiANCE release are the ones included in the “LAN patch” (except some extra language files and the updated game readme).

Can anybody confirm that he's been able to play on Hamachi using the AVENGED rip and the LAN patch? Maybe there's also a registry difference between the two versions, but could this matter? The RADiANCE release doesn't even come with an installer/registry entries.

  77. gflare
