i have a dell 3800 and i can confirm my laptop gets up to 120 degrees when left sitting on a surface. I'm glad this news have been annouce about the new laptops, its the batteries. Matter a fact dell recalled certain models just because of the heat from the batteries. I figured if i take the battery out and use the adaptor it would stop getting so hot, nope, i guess the heat is coming from the fan or whatever too, all i know something inside the laptop really putting off alot of heat. I have a new hp laptop now for work use and there is some heat but it's more just warmth then being hot like the dell one. Also its super quiet. I can't even hear anything unless i place my ear on it.

Read about this a few days ago on Shortnews I think it was. All I can say is, what if this happened on an airplane? Where laptops are the norm. Very dangerous.. n' scary.
