We have another release for the popular movie Death Sentence although there is already a DVDRip of this movie (here) this release by ESPiSE is the Unrated version which means there is some extra footage they were not allowed to show. Plot: When John Hume’s (Bacon) son is killed by a group of gang-bangers his life is torn apart. His one salve is that the killer was caught at the crime scene, but when the justice department offers up 6 months in prison as retribution, he knows there must be something better, something that will allow his family to move on. Surprising himself, he retracts his testimony as the lone witness, essentially killing the case, and begins to look for another means for justice. It comes to him in the form of violence, which simultaneously gives him the relief he’s looking for and puts his family on a path towards death, as the rest of the gang comes looking for their revenge.

I watched the iMBT release yesterday, so think I will pass out on this one, unless there is something exstra on this unrated version worth wathcing ?
I would like to know what is the extra stuff as I have the DVDrip from before and I dont want to download the same movie over 5 mins of action…I can live with that but if it is more…then I will download it…but I would like to know how long or is it even good???

Death Sentence is released on a single-disc edition from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment. The DVD features two versions of the film. You can either watch the R-rated theatrical cut or an unrated cut of the film that includes over 10 minutes of footage.

no.. this movie is pretty lame. the plot and the characters are artificial and ridiculous. a big disappointment. if you enjoyed this movie you probably think britney spears is a good singer and taco bell has good food.

@23 ballkick, this movie is far from lame, yes i personally think it could have used more action alot quicker, but it certainly has some potential… i mean, this movie goes in the whole “The Brave One & The Punisher” genre. it kicks ass… ppl who like to be an ass about things & say a movie is bad for the hell of it, just because it doesnt live up to their standards. it doesnt mean that other ppl won’t enjoy it. so if u dont like it, fine. if u do, even better… don’t complain and try to ruin things for other ppl. this is really a good movie to check out. i give it 4 out of 5 stars.

The unrated tag is used way too often and is misleading. If you read the IMDB infos what was missing in the theatrical release you realize it’s nothing that was removed because of ratings, violence, sex, drugs or whatever. Unrated sounds like it’s a more brutal, sexier version of a movie although it’s nothing like that.

This movie is 2 movies in 1. It begins very good with a man stuggeling to survive. Then somehow it changes in a men kills them all.
If you miss that switch and don’t accept it, you will defenitley hate this one, if not, it is ok. They should have sticked with the first style of the movie. Than it would have turned out to be one of the 250 top imdb-movies!

It’s an average revenge movie. It’s better than the other current revenge flick (the brave one), and has some good moments but it’s still average.
5 out of 10.
Lets hope it kickstarts the revenge genre (although even kill bill couldn’t manage that). That and the post-apocalyptic (such as I am Legend, only better - and preferably with something more original than zombies) genres are my favourite.
Why do people request 2 CDs? It’s more convenient releasing it on one CD (quality is fine, no need to swap discs, quicker to download etc.) and putting both files together would be 1400 MB which is too big for a CD-R and would put a DVD-R to waste.
“In the theatrical version, it cuts to Brendan and Luke bickering while eating dinner after the opening office scene with Nick and Owen. In the unrated version, after the office scene, a new scene is added. Luke is sent to Helen, who works as a dean at his school, for telling a teacher to shove a laser pointer up his ass. She says that he’s going to be in trouble, and Luke says that he’ll do anything but community service. Because he says this, Helen recommends he signs as a volunteer for a dance at an elderly home. He refuses, and when Helen sees Brendan outside with his hocket teammates, she says that Luke can be the new bag boy for the team. Luke says that he’ll volunteer to do the old people’s dance and leaves. Then it cuts to the boys bickering at dinner.
In the theatrical version, Bodie walks over to Billy, who’s in the chapel of the mental asylum. He asks him “are we going to do this?” as Billy searches through Nick’s briefcase. Billy looks at the cross in the chapel, and it cuts to Nick sitting nervously in his office. In the unrated version, when Bodie asks Billy “are we going to do this?”, Billy looks at a chair that has Joe’s red leather jacket. Billy wears his jacket and the gang walks down the street to their local funeral home. The clerk is adding up how much it will cost them for the funeral service and burial, but Billy is adamant that Joe’s corpse is to be cremated. The gang members harrass the clerk to make sure that Billy gets his way. The clerk says that their total is $700, and Billy takes out $200 from Nick’s wallet and throws the bills at his face, saying that the price is $200. Billy then looks through the pictures in Nick’s wallet of his family, and Bodie asks him if he’s thought of something. Billy gives Bodie Nick’s wallet and then the gang leaves from the funeral home. As they do, Bones happens to drives by and so he stops. He yells at the entire gang for making news in the newspaper about a possible gang war. He also yells at them for not doing the jobs he’s sent them to do and not paying him. Bones says that they get to stop when he kills them. He then spits gum on Billy and kisses his head. As Bones walks away, Billy says that they’re going to burn Joe. Bones says “well, he’s the lucky one, ain’t he?”
In the unrated version, there is additonal dialogue in the stairway scene between Nick and Helen (the night they are attacked by the gang). Helen says “I can’t agree with what you’ve done. But I know why you did it” before telling him that she loves him.
In the theatrical version, the film ends with the wounded Nick watching home videos of his family, leaving Nick’s fate unclear. In the unrated version, additional shots are included. While watching the home videos, Nick removes his hand from his neck wound and closes his eyes, presumably dying.”

Looks like we now have some extra footage explained, I’m just hoping there’sa bit mroe action, too! And the movie isn’t too bad, I liked it, and a lot of others did too. The ending wasn’t the greatest, but it was still pretty good for a revenge movie and all. Thanks for the update RLSLOG!
