Here is the newest EP from indie rock outfit Death Cab for Cutie. Just a 5 song EP, but I hope it’s enough for fans to get their fix while waiting on their next album.

For those not familiar with Death Cab their sounds are reminiscent of R.E.M. and the Pixies. They could be defined by their melodic guitar, distinguished vocals of lead singer and band founder Benjamin Gibbard as well as for their heartfelt, intelligent lyrics. Lyrically they highlight the human soul when it comes to the reality of relationships; the assurance, confusion, ultimate high and face scraping lows.

And now is as good of time as any to get acquainted with Death Cab for Cutie. On the heels of Narrow Stairs they are keeping the momentum rolling by releasing a new EP, Open Door. It will be available by digital retailers on Tuesday, March 31st and in stores on April 14th. You can preview their EP online at Stereogum. Enjoy!
