Death Cab For Cutie – Narrow Stairs (2008)

This is a guest post by Prezdead.

Album CoverOn the chopping block today we have some Death Cab for Cutie, a fairly well known indie band from the States. This album brings a new sound to their songs. They have said that they included more heavy, slow metal type sounds into this release. It sounds pretty cool, worth a look. Enjoy!

Narrow Stairs is the seventh studio album by rock band Death Cab for Cutie. It will be released on May 12, 2008 in the United Kingdom and May 13, 2008 in the United States. The first single of the album was “I Will Possess Your Heart”, released on March 18, 2008.

Death Cab for Cutie

Death Cab for Cutie is an American indie pop rock band formed in Bellingham, Washington in 1997. The band takes its name from a satirical song of the same name, written by Vivian Stanshall and performed by the Bonzo Dog Doo-Dah Band on their 1967 album Gorilla and in the Beatles’ experimental movie, Magical Mystery Tour.

I’d have to agree with SkuNk. Enough of the weird European Metal bands… The Alternative (or however you may want to label it) stuff is just fine.
    Thanks for the post.

    humm, look.

    zenit 1 – 0 rangers

but rangers is playing better, only ‘cos Zenit is playing on counter attack. If Zenit wins, it’s good for Bayern, at least they lost to a good team. If Rangers wins,… nah, the match it’s finishing.

OHHHHHHHH, wait, Zenit scored their second. AND it’s crazy on Old Trafford, Russians are happy like crazy idiots, and… (………).

and the angry drunk rangers burned manchester to the ground. nothing was saved, not even ronaldo hiding out with rooney in their secret love nest. park was seen running, but some fat scot raeped him brutally, he won’t be available for moscow either. also reported that sven as his most amazing move as coach of city got hotels for all his players outside the city.

Of course this is the retail release, as it hit stores yesterday. And The Postal Service is not an “offshoot” of DCFC. The only thing in common is the lead singer Gibbard. The Postal Service is far superior to DCFC, imo.

I’m not particularly a fan of these guys. A little too soft for my liking, but Gibbard is a fine singer and, as mentioned previously, Transatlanticism is a gem. I highly recommend everyone give it a spin before giving up on them.

Good that you’ve seen a new side of Seattle music, steveo. This place is brimming with great bands well past their due. Seattle and the Northwest are rich in a musical tradition that began long before “grunge”. There’s a lot more than alternative happening, too. Punk and Hip Hop are simply amazing in this area. Also mentioned previously, you should definitely check out KEXP. It’s by far the best radio station I’ve ever been a part of.

The 224kbs version that @15 has posted is fake that was leaked few weeks ago.

The real version sucks too because the 10th song is cut off like someone already mentioned.

  45. Uh-Oh!
    May 16th, 2008 | 06:35

Pity And Fear (the 10th song), is supposed to be like that. It is exactly that way on the cd. I can post the flac and/or mp3 files if you would like a straight retail rip. But don’t waste my time if you’re just going to b!tch and bite the hand that feeds.
