Deal 2008 R5 XviD-SVD
It’s not really common to see an R5 rip after the dvdrip, but a poker movie “Deal” is such an exception. We informed about the dvdrip more than a month ago so it came as a little surprise today, when group SVD released another rip from Russian R5 source. I personaly find movies about poker pretty much boring and movie critics tend to agree with me in the case of Deal, but it’s up to you in the final call.
The Las Vegas style film revolves around an ex-gambler who teaches a hot-shot college student how to really play player, according to Variety. After the two have a bitter falling out, mentor and student find themselves competing against each other in the World Poker Tour championships. Also starring in Deal is Shannon Elizabeth and Charles Durning. Plus, guest cameos include professional poker players Phil “The Unabomber” Laak, Antonio The Magician Esfandari, and Vince Van Patton.

This movie isn’t terrible, it’s much better than Lucky You but much worse than Rounders. It’s a watch one time and then get rid of type of movie with that guy from that tv show Reaper. If you like poker movies, check out the tv show Tilt, I just got the first season off mininova and thought it was really good, it was dne by the same guys who did Rounders.
You skip certain releases, and then you post a R5 of a crappy movie that’s already released as a DVDrip? I don’t understand Releaselog sometimes.

@#15 - Rounders leaves this movie for dead, it’s gritty, honest and just a great story and acting to match.
Deal is a fluff piece, using TV actors and Burt ‘The bandit’ Reynolds, with Shannon their for eye candy.
That said, if you like poker this is definitely a watch-once film, there really isn’t very many in the genre around so you have to see them when they come along, if not just to laugh at their dumbed-down to the lowest common denominator poker scenes.
It’ll fill in a lazy afternoon.

First off, just to be fair, Shannon Elizabeth is supposedly a pretty decent poker player. She placed in the money in 4 events in 2006/2007. Im just saying, yeah, shes definitely not bad to look at, but she definitely brings at least a little cred to a poker movie.
Second off, obligatory Tilt-Was-Terrible comment. Thank god that didnt get re-upped for a second season.
Rounders is about the best you’re going to get from a poker movie today. Theres a bunch of great ones from back in the day, but then, you’re not showing the same game as it is today. But even Rounders is kinda cheesy once you’ve been playing for a while.
And, a final word on Lucky You. Yeah, the movie sucked. And the lead actor is the kind of player that 100% of the time hits rock bottom. Thats not the guy that gets themselves together, thats the guy that blows himself out, and fast. However cheesy it was though, they did somehow get a lot of big names in that movie. They even carted Doyle out for a quick scene, plus, I mean, if you’ve got Daniel Negreanu and Johnny Chan in a poker film and you’re in good company.
Can someone please explain to me why the HELL someone would want to download an R5 when the DVDRip has been available for weeks already? Bloody amateurs…
