Dead Space Downfall 2008 720p BluRay x264-CiNEFiLE

CineFilE just released this High Def version for Dead Space Downfall. Haven’t seen it yet, nor played the game. Enjoy

Dead Space: Downfall is a feature length sci-fi/horror animated movie based on the much anticipated Electronic Arts video game Dead Space! When a deep space mining operation discovers a mysterious alien Marker they believe they have finally found evidence of our creators. However, the removal of the Marker unleashes a horrific alien species, which had been entombed within a remote planet, and a desperate fight for survival ensues. The story follows a select group of miners and crewmembers, as they are confronted with an evil like none ever encountered by man. Dead Space: Downfall serves as a prequel to the game and will take adult animated horror to a whole new level. The movie gives the needed back-story to fully appreciate the game and includes storyline embedded game secrets!

this is sort of extended intro, the game intro starts right off where the movie ends, and the movie starts i think right where the online cartoons on the official homepage end.

If the source is BluRay why didn’t they fill a whole DVD? Woulnd’t 2 GiB more result in a better quality?

    No, i saw it.
Its a complete intro. The only thing (if any) that it reveals, is the introduction but that’s nothing to worry about.

Does it have anything to do with the game?
Not really, its pretty much an anime horror flick that got the dead space creators some extra cash. The only real things have to do with is settings and weapons. Other than that its alright. I give it an 8/10

    @ 4:
HD rips of animated movies are often 2 GB instead of 4. Usually, due to the nature of hand-drawn animated movies (larger blocks of solid color, etc), a lower bitrate can be used, and will still produce pristine image quality.

Anyways, regarding the movie itself. I probably wouldn’t recommend it to people who don’t plan to play the game (by the way, it’s an excellent game, IMO), as it’s not all that great as a stand-alone movie, but for anyone who is planning on playing the game, or has played the game already, I would definitely recommend checking it out.

It serves as a pretty interesting setup/prequel to the game, and leads right up to it. It’s only 74 minutes long, which is just a fraction of the length of the game, so I’d say it’s worth the extra time to get the whole story (well, more the story, anyways), if you’re going to play it.

So, yeah. Not too interesting as a standalone movie, but paired with the game, I think it’s an excellent experience.

Joystiq.com just reviewed this movie and reccomended people that are going to play the game to NOT watch this movie first. Here’s a quote:

“The product packaging says you should watch the movie, and then play the game — but, we’d recommend the opposite. Although Downfall serves as a prequel to the game, it fleshes out details that are only relevant to those that have completed the adventure. Part of the fun of Dead Space’s creepy adventure comes from figuring out what happened before Issac’s arrival on the Ishimura. While the story is far from original, it’s fun to search the ship for more clues about the mysterious alien “Marker” and the Scientologists Unitologists that worship it. Watching Downfall before playing the game would ruin this aspect of the game experience.”

i have played the game & watched film before i played. The movie only serves as to set the mood of the situation in the game, but the game doesn’t really got into detail of the events that the movie provides. If want the mystery of venturing into the unknown which the game gives if you don’t watch movie till after
