Days of Darkness 2007 Festival DVDRip XviD-SAVIOR

Days of Darkness is a pretty much unknown horror movie featured at various film festivals around the world, and therefore very limited in reaching its audience. But that’s one of the reasons why people like to check Releaselog, because we inform not only about Hollywood’s biggest moneygrabbers but also about those specific, more or less unknown movies. Expect loads of violence, blood and disgusting horror scenes packed in a standard 1 CD rip. Subtitles included.

A comet slams into the Earth and unleashes a cloud of cosmic dust that gives rise to powerful zombies with an appetite for human flesh. Successfully avoiding the army of the walking dead and their search for man-sized munchies, a band of survivors takes refuge in a makeshift fortress and braces for a bloody battle for survival. John Lee Ames, Sabrina Gennarino star.

Despite having seen every decent (and some not) zombie movie ever made… after watching the trailer, I’ll pass on this one. I spend more per week on groceries than the budget for this movie! If some poor sucker wants to actually watch it and give us a review, I’ll read it! :D lol

I have not seen this one yet, but,

Thanks, Martin, for the indie review. And I’ll stand up for the low budgets, and horrors too, by saying that:

1.) zombie movies, (no matter the amount of money spent by the filmmakers), are still great!

2.) And that (the) people (commenting) should appreciate the work put in on these reviews and the sites contributors instead of ripping them (like the recent Mr. X review), because you all do still read it and use it to your advantage, right?

So why the beef? Show some love. I don’t work with/know any of the writers, but I do really enjoy reading the reviews…so seriously stop yelling about what you don’t like, low budget or not, and move on to what you do like.

because we all like comments, okay.

This sounds like Night Of the Comet: Where a comet closes by the earth at night and everyone but a few people are watching the comet at parties etc.. and by morning they are either turned into red dust or become zombies.. it’s a cheesy movie by today’s standards but it still a classic i my opinion.
This movie sounds like that one, I will check it out anyways, there hasn’t been a alot of good movie releases in 10 years.

A large part of horror fans (myself included), also have great affection for the low production quality stuff…in part because they’re so bad. It’s like getting a free comedy movie, wrapped inside a crunchy, gorey shell.

    Or that might be tacos…

And more importantly, there’s always the chance it might be good! Often the gritty appearance, and low budget look can do wonders for a film.

After all…if no one ever gave cheaply made zombie/horror movies a chance, we’d all have been deprived of having seen Romero’s Dawn/Day/Night trilogy…Texas Chainsaw Massacre, The Evil Dead series along with so many others.

‘Cause even bad actor zombies need to eat too. Nom;nom;nom.

If anyone is interested, this movie is available on Usenet as a dvdr.

I’m grabbing it, and will post a review in this thread. Low budget horror is my single favourite genre, so I don’t shy away from stuff like this.

Thanks to the original poster of this; otherwise it would have slipped below my radar.

checked this one out myself and im considered summat of a goremestier/hound round the internet - it was decently done on the budget provided.

its laughable to witness people slam filmmakers efforts to provide us with some entertainment - they work hard to put a story together for us and all we can think of is to spit and put down something most of us im sure we probably didnt even pay for (talk about gratitude lol)

unless any of you have actually MADE a film ever then it would be wise to remember that it takes work and a careful balance of every aspect from the director to the actors to the sets. =)

I downloaded the dvdr and watched it with a few beer on board. Pretty decent acting, music and okay cinematography. At about 2/3 of the way through the movie, it starts to depart from a ‘traditional’ zombie movie (if that is possible). It’s not a baaaad movie (I’d put it above the level of say Redneck Zombies, Zombiez, Deadlands: The Rising, Zombie Night or Maplewoods)….it just loses gas at about the 2/3 mark.

Worth a download (and for what it’s worth, with the exeption of Deadlans, which I bought, I enjoyed all of the above movies I reference, so take yer cue from this :) ).

NFO tells about subs … but i can’t find them.

Bad. This movie is REALLY bad. Not because of a low budget - the budget is no excuse for a bad screenplay and crappy acting. The characters - who wrote them? A porn star who “performed” with horses as a member of the survivor crew? And her daughter is only 10 years her junior? Come one, guys - this is ridiculous! Total crapfest. Again - a low budget is never an excuse for a moronic screenplay.
