Daybreakers 2009 RC LiNE 720p BluRay x264-RUBLU

Ok, we had R5 version of Daybreakers released week ago by CAMELOT. RUBLU group bring us something new to x264 BluRay rips: an R5 rip (aka RC – Region C). They took Russian bluray video source and mux it with English audio , in this case line audio. Sure this way you can’t get that ultra-mega 5.1 DTS surround as usual from blurays, but at least you have nice video.

Plot: In a world 10 years into the future, vampires make up the vast majority of the population with only 5% of the human race remaining. This presents particular challenges as the vampires’ food supply – human blood – is dwindling and rationing is now the norm. There is growing evidence that vampires deprived of an adequate blood supply are themselves evolving into wild, vile creatures that attack anyone and anything in order to survive. Dr. Edward Dalton, a vampire and hematologist who works for a pharmaceutical firm, has been working on finding an artificial blood supply that will meet the vampire society’s needs. He is sympathetic to humans and sees his work as a way of alleviating their suffering but his views on finding a solution change considerably when he meets someone who found a way to transform himself from being a vampire to again take human form.

    This movie – was nuked during trading in the scene – although the nuke wasn’t pre’d due to this you will not get a full download of this film. But there should be a p2p version of it soon – I have been told ;)

    I saw the R5 from vision yesterday (decent release by the way) and I was left quite disappointed from this movie.
    While the context of the plot may sound intriguing (even for the done-to-the-(un)death vampire genre) the movie fails to deliver it’s message to the bored viewer.
    First of all the acting is bad, Ethan Hawke is in my opinion a mediocre actor at best, dare I say his facial expressions on him movie are keanu-esque. Willem Dafoe is a minor form of Christopher Walken, in terms of coolness, but his performance is ruined by bad and often repeated one liners.
    Sam Neill is one of my favourites, but his portrayal of the main antagonist is both shallow and unfitting for him.
    The film may be considered science fiction, but it’s only does a mockery of a myth combined with scraps of microscopy. There’s no explanation of any sort of how an entire population became bloodthirsty but (minor spoiler) the transitions from diseased to cured are instantiates.
    Still it has a score 6.4 on IMDB (personally the movie is just a 5) and you might enjoy watching it if you’re really into vampires. Either way, if you have nothing else to do for 90 minutes and this happens to come by your way, you might as well right?
