We’ve told you about the DVDSCR release of this movie back in December 2007, also by group BaLD. This time it’s a DVDRip. The film deals with a fascinating subject – how do you handle a sudden event that forces you to change your life dramatically? This quickly reminded me of the movie “Return To Paradise (1998)” (which is a must see, in my opinion). Unfortunately, it seems reviewers didn’t appreciate “Day Zero” much as you can tell by the RT score, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worth a try.

Synopsis: The U.S. military draft is back. You have 30 days to report… Day Zero follows the lives of three best friends in New York City who have 30 days to come to terms with their fate the draft is back and they’ve been called to serve. Dixon , Rifkin and Feller, who grew up together, live very different lives in the same city, but their childhood friendship still binds them. Rifkin (Chris Klein) is a married lawyer whose career is on the rise. He’s just made partner and is looking for any loop hole to get out of serving. Now is just is not a good time for him. Feller (Elijah Wood) is working on his second novel. The first was a smash success, but his draft notice paralyzes him, causing severe writer’s block.

    This had an amazing IMDB rating when it was first released, and it was one of those low-budget, great movies that were discovered thanks to piracy. Critics and later IMDB ratings are quite the opposite, though.

    I had been planning to watch this movie this weekend, so this comes in perfect time. Thanks for the post!

    RELEASE DATE: 2006-03-24 so shouldn’t be too hard to find. Just downloaded it.

    Ontopic: Can’t decide whether this movie is worth downloading or not. Very mixed opinions it seems. :(

    this is in deed one of the whorst movies ever made. its just patriotic bs and the arguments of those that a pro war or draft are just ridiculous. elija wood plays an especialy dumb character, wish isnt easy in this movie. to take this role wood has to be an id.iot or he didnt read the script or both. but watch it and you will see that you alternate between laughing and vomiting.
