Day Watch-Unleashed

The Clone/DOX group UNLEASHED today bring us a game called Day Watch, the sequel to Night Watch released a couple of years ago. Both games are based on the movies which are in turn based on the novels of the same name. Unlike the previous game in the series in Day Watch you play as the “bad guys” which is always fun to play. Unusually for a russian game this release hasnt been infected with starforce or some other awful protection scheme, so there should be no trouble in firing it up! The developers have also created some pretty good games in the past including Heroes of Might and Magic V, Blitzkrieg 2 and Silent Storm so this game has a pretty good pedigree already. If your into the whole fantasy, thriller thing and like role playing games this should right up your alley.

Based on the ultra successful movie series and developed by the makes of heroes of Might and Magic V, Blitzkrieg II and Silent Storm. There are people among us who appear to look ordinary – but they are not They lead a two-fold existence and name themselves appropriately “The Others”. These beings have the unique ability to alter physical reality and to manipulate the alternative one. The Others are divided into those who follow the Light and those who pursue Darkness. Their battle goes on since ages long forgotten and will continue until one side permanently gains the upper hand.

The game has some big interface problems, some tooltips appear corrupted and you cannot navigate around the menus because a large portrait of your character is in the way (?)

This game is terrible. Clunky, slow, horrible gameplay. It looks like it should have come out 8 years ago.
